If these so called intelligent people existed 40 thousand years ago, then surely they had a knowledge of writing. If I were to leave a message for future beings it would not be in the form of cave paintings. It would be in written words or maybe even in digital or binary methods. That is, of course, if they were as intelligent or more intelligent and advanced than we as you claim!
Engraving massive diagrams in rock would make a lot of sense as a way to leave a message that would last 40 thousand years. But the Nazca Lines aren’t much to look at close up, they’re lines shovelled clean on a rocky plain. No advanced tech required.

That is the POINT. The reason they were found is because of a “Flight” in the 1930s. You need to be in the sky to appreciate the scale, and if one bothers to do a “Google Earth” flyover, they are RUNWAYS, with markers…….

I cannot say why certain ancient groups did not leave writing, but the evidence for ancient societies being more advanced than us, is found all over the world in the form of art and architecture. For instance, a granite statue found outside Luxor, Egypt, shows a measurable tolerance of 2/10,000th’s of an inch, over an 8ft arc radius. For us to accomplish this kind of precision in such a hard material would be a nightmare, even with our most advanced equipment. What was also determined upon analysis, was that the proportions of the Ramses head were perfect and the symmetry was greater than that of a flesh and blood human face. All over Egypt we find numerous examples of their ability to shape the hardest stones with absurd precision. There is nothing in the archeological record that can explain how these feats were accomplished, nevertheless, they exist to this day and can be viewed by anyone. All attempts to recreate the results achieved in ancient times, using the methods we are lead to believe they used, have failled miserably. There is also plenty of examples found all over the world where stone blocks weighing anywhere from 200 to 1400 tons are used in construction. In the Aswan quarry in Egypt, there is a granite obelisk estimated to weigh a staggering 1600 tons. Had they not cracked the obelisk while quarrying it, they intended to ship this 1600 ton behemoth to Baalbek, Lebanon. I would suggest anyone reading this should watch how much trouble we had moving “levitating mass”, a gigantic boulder weighing between 300-400 tons. It is insane. Then imagine how on earth we would transport a boulder weighing 1600 tons to a different country. The engineering and technical ability required to move such large objects is utterly mind boggling, yet in ancient times they appeared to do it with ease, as examples are found all over the world. I’m not suggesting aliens did this either.
