Usually monuments were moved around by aurochs(found on site in droves literally), the ancient Britions were also known to live among giants, so huge draft animals and some very tall masons. Combine that with a technique of at least half burial of your site and just dropping your stones into pre positioned holes by drag and drop on sleds using leather ropes(or at least believed so) without having to bother with all that leverage nonsense. All you do then is dig them out an easy job for munchkins. Lazyness research in ancient history for some reason never gets grant money.
