Longtime radio host Art Bell, whose paranormal-themed show “Coast to Coast AM” was nationally syndicated, died Friday at his Nevada home, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. He was 72.

Bell was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, on June 17, 1945. He was a medic during the Vietnam War.

According to the Coast to Coast AM website, Bell was an FCC licensed radio technician at age 13. The website also said that Bell set a Guinness World Record for a solo broadcast marathon, at more than 116 hours, while working as a DJ on KSBK in Okinawa, Japan. That record has since been broken; the current mark of 205 hours, 2 minutes, 54 seconds was set in 2016 by Stefano Venneri on Radio BBSI in Alessandria, Italy, Guinness said on its website

    R.I.P Art Bell.

  • Hi NSA, kiss my artichoke

    He was a good listen.
Don’t listen to Coast to Coast much anymore, though when I have caught bits of it, the new guy seems to do pretty good.
R.I.P. Mr. Bell. You exposed a lot of people to subjects they never would have heard from MSM.

He had real respect for his guests and callers to his show. There was and is no other talk radio host quite like Art….he was an icon and legend in the field. He set the standard for paranormal talk radio.

Art started the Coast to Coast show in 1984. The current version of C to C is a hollow shadow of the original. No one has been able to host the show with the grace & style of Art Bell.

I notice George Noorey gets rude at some guest. Especially women. Also, if you ask how’s he’s doing, (habit and manner of many people) he seems to get really annoyed by it.

He also BRAGGED how he keeps tabs on what his guest say when they talk about the future, ‘cept for his friends when they get it WRONG.

Like Gerald Celente, who said Mitt Romney was going to be president. Well, he got on the George Noorey show after the election and Georgy boy NEVER asked him about that.

Pink…..Snoory thinks the show is all about himself. He has to relate everything to some aspect of his own life.
There are several websites about how dreadful his presentation can be.

He once said that Sanskrit is something that people write in the sand at the beach.

He also once told Linda Howe that he had a $10K check for her, she was all excited, then he told her it was just a joke. You can see why he’s divorced.

Plus, he likes to drop names of fancy movie star type restaurants where he has lunch…..[by himself]. He thinks he’s a big-time ‘star’.

        Very full of himself.

RIP Art Bell…I think I envy you, getting away from it all…I wonder if the family are going to have an Irish Funeral??…

He died young. Seemed to get confused about carrying on his radio show, then not, then carrying it on again.

He was suffering from the lifelong effects of heavy smoking and was in hospital a year ago. Its sadly no surprise that he passed away.

Good luck on your new journey, rest in peace

Art, I guess you will find out if ghost are real now. R.I.P.
