SACRAMENTO MOTHMAN
On, August 2009, a professional photographer named Lamont Greer was out taking pictures of the Sacramento’s Tower Bridge when he sighted a creature sitting on top of the railing of the Sacramento Tower Bridge. Lamont described the creature as having large wings, no neck, humanoid body and the face of a moth. Lamont’s sighting was featured on History Channel’s Monsterquest. In an article entitled: “Mothman Sighted on Sacramento’s Tower Bridge” written by Loretta Splitair, she talks about two more witnesses to the Sacramento Mothman, their names are Dustin Kemp – an Embassy Suites Hotel Manager. Dustin saw a shadowy winged humanoid like creature on the bridge. Another witness Carlos Fuentes who works at Joe’s Crab Shack saw the Sacramento Mothman on the Sacramento Tower Bridge. Carlos even contacted the police and search and rescue, just in case what he saw was a human on the bridge attempting suicide. On Reddit, an anonymous person writes that he and his friends Patrick and Tim saw the Sacramento Mothman on the bridge. There is a woman that was investigating the Mothman sightings on the Sacramento Tower Bridge at 3am and she claimed that she saw and heard the Mothman on the bridge. Her story was posted on the Internet and recently has been taken down. With these many witnesses, they must be seeing something.

LAGUNA CREEK WETLANDS GIANT SALAMANDER
In the Unexplained Mysteries article “Laguna Creek Wetlands Salamander”, there were reports from joggers and dog walkers along the Laguna Creek Wetlands trail, that they saw a giant salamander. Giant salamanders have been seen along the embankments of the Sacramento River and in the Trinity Alps. I received an anonymous email from a student at UC Davis who read my article and he told me that it was two UC Davis students who released a giant salamander in the Wetlands – mystery solved. For a salamander to live in our Wetlands is not highly impossible. Just recently on Apr 12, 2023, a fisherman found a 7-foot alligator in the American River at Sailor Bar near Fair Oaks in Sacramento, California according to wildlife officials.

SACRAMENTO DOGMAN & FRANKLIN BLVD DOGMAN
In 1953, according to the article “Sacramento County, CA Encounter by Anonymous”, the writer’s mother at the age of 12 years old encountered the Dogman. The Dogman was looking at her from her kitchen window. She was terrified. You can read more about this encounter as the “dogmanencounters” website. In 1962, on Francesca and Franklin Blvd, Darion Wilcox’s mother Sarah encountered the Dogman. 1962 appears to be the last sighting of a Dogman in Sacramento.

WETLASH – WATER ELEMENTAL
See article in the Sacramento Press, entitled: “Bob Montana – Carmichael Resident Sighting of a Wetlash”. The sighting took place on November 16, 2011, along Garcia Bend. Bob Montana, an avid fisherman encountered a water elemental in the Sacramento River. It was transparent and seemed to be made of water. It wore old style clothing and had the features of an elf or leprechaun. The water elemental caught a fish and then dived back into the water.

SACRAMENTO RIVER SERPENT
Two SMUD workers along the Sacramento River in Greenhaven see a large river serpent swimming down the Sacramento River. The two SMUD workers are reliable witnesses. Anything could be in the Sacramento River. The Sacramento River once had humpback whales swimming in its waters. Case in point Delta and Dawn. Delta is a humpback whale and mother to her calf Dawn. In May 2007, Delta and Dawn swam up the San Francisco Bay and deep into the Sacramento River. Then there was a famous humpback whale named Humphrey that did same thing as Delta and Dawn. In 1957, there were reported sightings of the Folsom Lake Monster (that looked like a serpent). So, when people say they see a river serpent in the Sacramento River, I have a tendency to believe them.
