One of my Facebook friends named: Terry James Millard (Lost Boy) reminded me of Halo Paranormal Investigations (HPI) in the town of Clarksburg. Here is HPI’s story.

There is an old mansion along the Sacramento River in the town of Clarksburg. The mansion is known as The Cornish House. The original owner of the house was George Franklin Cornish of the Union Army. George was with the 2nd Wisconsin Calvary Company C. George was one of the many union soldiers that were captured by the Confederates and spent some horrible torturous years as a POW. George when released as a POW decided to move to California. George died on January 19, 1911, of stomach cancer.

After the death of George, the house went to the Wyre Family. When the Wyre Family moved out, they sold the home to prominent local attorney named Archibald Yell. Yell eventually sold it to Charles and Joseph Shiebigg and from there it had a few more owners, before becoming a historical landmark.

When HPI (Halo Paranormal Investigations) conducted an investigation of this mansion, we captured an EVP of a man saying something that sounded like “tell a thumper”. Another investigator felt like they were pushed. We captured a cloudy mist in front of the house. Our EMF meters were going off in and around the mansion. As things became interesting, a caretaker asked us to leave, before we could do a thorough investigation. From the little evidence we captured, I truly believe that this house is very haunted.

Some History About Clarksburg
Clarksburg has been settled since the 1850s, when nearby Merritt Island was cleared for agricultural uses. The Clarksburg post office opened in 1876. Clarksburg was originally spelled Clarksburgh and in 1893, the townsfolk changed it to Clarksburg. The founder of Clarksburg was Robert C. Clark in 1849. The haunted Old Sugar Mill was open in Clarksburg in the 1930s. HPI conducted an investigation at the Old Sugar Mill and we obtained 7 EVPs at this mill. At this mill, there were severe accidents by the workers and the residual energy from these accidents haunt the mill. Along the Sacramento River next to Clarksburg, 3 fisherman are seen by a campfire and when you approach this campfire the campfire along with the three fisherman vanish. There has been times when night time fisherman along the river banks have seen a fisherman approach their campfire, only to disappear before reaching the campfire. The fisherman that approaches campfires is usually drenched in water. Another apparition that is seen by the Sacramento River near Clarksburg is a half naked woman walking alongside the road. This ghostly girl looks lost and as you approach the girl in your vehicle she will dematerialize into nothingness. Some people believe either she was a drowning victim or she was murdered along the Sacramento River. As for the three fisherman, this may be a residual haunting.
