Ancient Aliens talked about Lake Mead, Ghost Adventures investigated Lake Mead and now it seems that many paranormal groups are heading over to Lake Mead to find paranormal activity. While investigating Lake Mead, paranormal enthusiasts also learn about the paranormal activity happening at Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada. Darnel Ackhurst, an paranormal enthusiast, makes claim that he saw a giant sloth walking in and around the red rocks at Valley of Fire State Park. Giant Sloths roamed Nevada about eight million years ago. Darnel says that when he saw the giant sloth, it dematerialized almost instantly and when he snapped a photo, there was no image of a sloth on his photo. Locals also claim that they sometimes see strange lights in the sky at Valley of Fire State Park.

When my uncle George Roberts went on vacation to Las Vegas, he made a stop at Valley of Fire State Park, Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. George says that he actually did have a paranormal experience at Valley of Fire State Park. While he was hiking around the mighty red rocks, he claims he saw an attractive woman hiking in front of him. The woman smiled and in his mind, she was telling him to follow her. George says he heard a woman’s voice in his head say “follow me”. George says something wasn’t right about this woman and turned around and headed back to his vehicle. George said he felt something sinister about the woman. When he started walking back to his car, he turned around and couldn’t see the woman. There have been cases of missing people at Valley of Fire State Park. In fact the indigenous people called the Anasazi that once inhabited the area vanished! Where did these people go? When the Anasazi vanished, other tribes like the Paiute and Moapa moved in.

It would seem that there is paranormal activity all around this area, especially when you hear the statistics that over 300 people have died at Lake Mead and recently they found a man in a metal barrel at Lake Mead. The man in the barrel murder has all of the earmarks of a mafia hit. The dead are starting to pop up all around Lake Mead since the water levels went down. The area has a lot of history. The original inhabitants were called the Basketmaker People and they lived in the area in 300 AD. Archaeologists believe the area was first inhabited in 8000 BC. The ancient Puebloans aka the Anasazi migrated to the Lake Mead area and vanished around 1150 AD. Pueblo Grande de Nevada aka the Lost City is a mystery to many. How did all of these inhabitants disappear? Where did they go? Archaeologists are completely stumped on why complex structures with 20 to 100 rooms were abandoned. All throughout the area, archaeologists come across skeletal remains that are next to weapons and tools of the indigenous people that once lived in this area.
Carter Waugh of Boulder Spook Finders says that when his team conducted an investigation at Lake Mead they captured EVPs of people screaming. Carter says that Lake Mead National Recreation Area is very haunted. Many of his team members saw shadow people and one of his female team members had her leg grabbed, which caused her to trip and fall. Carter says that Lake Mead is filled with dark energy and it’s not a place for the faint of heart. Carter says when his team was ready to quit their investigation, they heard distant drum beats echoing into the night. Carter believes the drum beats were from Native Americans spirits.

Lincoln Forstater, who is a tourist, claims he saw a triangle type of UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomena) flying slowly over the Valley of Fire State Park. Is it possible that Valley of Fire State Park is on a leyline? Is that the reason UFO/UAPs are attracted to this area? My uncle George says if there is any area that is cursed, this is the place.
