I have only been to Joshua Tree National Park one time and that was back in 1987. I did a bit of hiking around the Park and I can’t tell you how spooked I was walking on one of the trails at this park. During my hike, I heard a strange humming sound that lasted for about 5 minutes. I then heard a strange screeching sound from an unknown animal. During the hike, I heard footsteps behind me and there was no one walking behind me. I felt like there was someone watching me. I had enough and decided to turn around and walk back to my vehicle. I had the creepy feeling that I was going to be confronted by something and wind up missing. I heard about how hikers have vanished off these trails and I didn’t want to become one of those statistics. Just recently a 25-year-old hiker named Trammell Evans became missing on 4/30/2023 at the Black Rock Campground. Trammell’s body, backpack and personal belongings have just vanished. There is no trace of Trammell. Where did he go? There have been reports of UFO activity at this park, along with sightings of Bigfoot and even a sighting of a Dogman.

At the Lost Horse Mine Trail which is very rugged terrain, it will take you to what’s left of an old gold mine. Hikers, campers say that the ghost of a miner who died in a tragic accident haunts this mine. People have seen the miner searching around the area of the mine, looking for his lost gold. Other adventurers that have frequent the old mine say that they hear the sounds of hammers hitting the rocks, the sounds of Tommy Knockers. Joshua Tree National Park was given its name from mid-19th century Mormon immigrants, that crossed over the Colorado River. Legend has it that these pioneers named the tree after the biblical figure Joshua, seeing how the limbs of the tree are outstretched in supplication, guiding the travelers westward. Some visitors of Joshua Tree National Park have seen the specters of these 19th century Mormon immigrants marching along the trails and then vanishing.

A very famous ghost that haunted the Joshua Tree Inn is Gram Parson of The Byrds and The Flying Burrito Brothers. Gram’s favorite place to stay was the Joshua Tree Inn. It’s a small motel on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere. The Inn was just as famous before his death as it is now. Musicians and other celebrities loved to stay there during downtimes away from the hubbub of a famed life. Gram had a favorite room in the Inn that he always stayed in. Room number 8. Room 8 is also where he died on September 19, 1973. Gram’s last visit to the desert would end up in tragedy. Gram brought his girlfriend Margaret Fisher, his manager Phil Kaufman and Phil’s girlfriend Dale McElroy. On this day and night, Gram consumed a large amount of alcohol and took a lot of drugs. It is said he drank six double tequilas and shot up some morphine. A young woman staying at the hotel shot Gram up with morphine and overdosed Gram. Gram’s girlfriend tried to revive Gram by placing ice cubes on him, and then forcing him to take a cold shower. Margaret left to get some coffee to revive Gram, and when she returned Gram was dead. After Gram’s death, they scattered his ashes at Cap Rock at Joshua Tree National Park. To cremate Gram, his friends set him on fire at Cap Rock. His ghost is seen at the Inn, around the desert, around Cap Rock and especially his favorite room at the Inn, Room #8. Guests staying in Room #9 heard music coming out of Room #8 and they knew no one was in that room. They believe it was the ghost of Gram playing music in his favorite room.

UFOs or UAPs are constantly seen at Joshua Tree National Park. One of my paranormal investigators and local Ufologist named “Xandean Smith” has been to Joshua Tree National Park investigating UFO sightings at this park and has obtained a lot of footage of strange UAPs seen in the sky. Sookie Yang a tourist from South Korea says that when he visited Joshua Tree National Park that he saw a UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) that was in the shape of a boomerang. The craft had two blue lights on both ends and a white light in the middle. The craft hovered in one spot for a while and then morphed into 3 ball light objects and zipped away. Sookie says he was like a deer in headlights, as he watched the craft. He also says that he heard a voice in his head that said…”do you want to come with us?” Sookie yelled out NO!! Sookie ran to his vehicle as fast as he could and feels if he had said “yes”, that he would have disappeared forever.

Joshua Tree National Park is a very mysterious park and the high strangeness of the park will continue on forever. My mother Rosita (Rosemarie) Causing / Roberts, a self-proclaimed psychic believes that Joshua Tree National Park has several portals to other dimensions. My mother when visiting this park felt an energy vortex near a trail. She believes that these vortexes open gateways to other dimensions.
