PERRAULT HOUSE INVESTIGATION
1/25/2024, Thursday: Psychic Medium Wish Fire (aka Deanna Jaxine Stinson) and myself, conducted an impromptu investigation of a known haunted home in Oak Park. The address of this home is: 5848 14th Avenue, Sacramento, CA. The home is named after former owner Hector Perrault. The time of the investigation: 2pm. We arrive at the Perrault House. We could not get inside the Perrault House, but it didn’t matter. If there is paranormal activity, it’s not only inside the house, but on the outside perimeters of the house. This house has a strange history. Back in 1964, Dorothy Lunsford and her 17-year-old-son witnessed all kinds of poltergeist activity. Some of the activity that they experienced were small fires occurring all around the house. There would be a small fire set off on the couch. A small fire would start on the bed, the rug, window curtain, etc. Dorothy and her son would frantically go to each fire and put it out, before the fire got out of hand. Other phenomena would take place, like lightbulbs bursting for no apparent reason. On one night, Dorothy’s heavy purse and a telephone next to the purse, started floating in the air. Dorothy went to sit down and the chair beneath her moved, and she found herself on the floor. The poltergeist activity could have been generated from her 17-year-old son. Usually, children going through puberty will expel energy from their mind and strange phenomena will suddenly take place. Now, back to the investigation. Wish Fire and myself, walked around this home to get an EMF reading. At no time did our EMF meter go off, nor did we get any EVPs. I took some pictures and there were no anomalies in our photographs. I believe that there are no ghosts at this residence and the poltergeist activity that was once here, came from Dorothy’s son. When Wish Fire and I walked down the street, we were 4 houses away from the Perrault House and we captured 2 stick figures in the trees on our Kinect SLS Camera. Wish Fire did not feel the stick figure images were of a paranormal nature and it was some kind of glitch in the system. I must agree with her. Even though we utilize a Kinect SLS Camera, I do not believe this device proves anything paranormal. We use it as a tool. To deem something paranormal, we must either capture a disembodied voice on our digital recorder or capture a true anomaly in our photos or video. We also utilize psychics as a tool. It is up to the investigator to prove or disapprove what the psychic picked up on.

BIBA RESTAURANT INVESTIGATION:
8/14/2019: This investigation is from the files of HPI Archives. Biba restaurant is located at 2801 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, CA. The restaurant is now permanently closed. At the location of the restaurant was once a bordello, from back in the 1800s. Employees, customers have heard the ghostly sounds of people talking, laughing. They have also heard a man singing some very old song and playing a harmonica. People have heard the shuffling sounds of feet moving or dancing. A ghostly woman in a flowing purple dress is seen floating about the restaurant. Many people believe that this woman in a purple dress is “Mary”, a former prostitute of the bordello. Legend has it that Mary was brutally murdered by a client in 1890. When Wish Fire explored the back room of the restaurant, she detected Mary. Wish Fire said she was sitting on a chair and seemed sad. Luckily, when we were in this restaurant, there weren’t that many people around. I was able to obtain an EVP, of a soft-spoken woman that says: “Will heaven take me?”

We received a report from a former patron of the restaurant who wishes to remain anonymous. This patron makes claim that while walking near the restaurant, that they saw the former owner, the late Biba Caggiano walking down the street. As the patron watched what he thought was Biba, she went behind a tree and vanished. This occurred in broad daylight in 2022. The patron swears up and down it was the ghost of Biba. I have not been to the location of the restaurant in recent times, to validate or dispute this ghostly sighting. But, on another note, it would make sense why Biba would haunt her restaurant. Biba loved her restaurant. I discovered that Biba was from Bologna, Italy. I have been to Bologna, and I remember staying in this hotel and the restaurant downstairs had 29 different types of spaghetti(s) and I tried to eat them all. I can see where Biba got her fabulous cooking skills from. With all of the reports about haunting activities at this restaurant, I truly believe that this restaurant is haunted, and my EVP confirmed it. I did not get any other EVPs after capturing the one “heaven” EVP.
