Back in 1978 and 1979, I had the Guinness Book of World Records for a short period of time for dancing 205 hours of Disco Dancing. 205 Hours is about 8 1/2 days. I was the first person to attempt to get the Guinness Book of World Records by dancing for 79 Hours, which is about 3 1/2 days. I did not hold the world’s record at 79 hours, because my breaks were 15 minutes long. When I contacted Guinness, they told me my breaks could only be 5 minutes long on each hour. When I danced 205 hours of disco dancing, I made sure the rules were followed. I had witnesses that would sign off that I completed 205 hours of disco dancing with 5-minute breaks on every hour. When I ate, I had to eat while I was dancing. My feet had to keep moving. If I needed to do a #1, I had to dance to the latrine with witnesses. I had to keep my feet moving while doing a #1. If I had to do a #2, I had to do it during my 5-minute break. There were a few times, I felt like I was going to fall out, but luckily, I had a strong German woman on the sidelines that would hold me up during a slow dance and I would have to keep my feet moving, while she was holding me up. When I felt like I gathered my strength, I would tell her to release me, and I would start freelance dancing again. When I accomplished dancing 205 hours, Ripley’s Believe it or Not placed me into one of their comic strips.

When I danced 205 hours of disco dancing, I started dancing at a nightclub called The Ritz in Old Sacramento. From there, my dancing entourage moved me from The Ritz to the Country Club Plaza (a mall in Sacramento, CA). While I was being transported to the Country Club Plaza, I was inside a van and witnesses watched me in the van as I continued to dance. Dancing for 205 hours, generated money for Easter Seals. People would contribute to Easter Seals to motivate me to dance the full 205 hours.

I was the 3rd and 5th Disco King of Sacramento. I became the 3rd Disco King when I danced 79 hours. I became the 5th and last Disco King of Sacramento, when I danced 205 hours. As the Disco King, I had access to 3 Rolls Royce. The Rolls Royce that I used took me to various nightclubs. I never had to stand in line, and I always sat in the VIP section of a nightclub. The three Rolls Royce came from various places, like the former Club Lido (now Grand Island Mansion), a mansion along the Sacramento River, a private owner and a nightclub owner. As the Disco King of Sacramento, I met many celebrities from Wolfman Jack; Monti Rock III; Cher; CHIC. As a professional dancer, I became a dance instructor for Arthur Murrays and performed with Jeff Kutach’s Dancing Machine. Dancing Machine was the first number for Cher at Harrah’s Tahoe in Lake Tahoe, CA. That is where I met Cher. In the latter part of 1979, people who hated disco attended the Disco Demolition and that is when disco died and my days of glory at the Disco King ended with a big thud.
