Hosting a big holiday party doesn’t always have to mean spending a lot of money in the process. Today, you can actually host a relatively large office holiday party and have a spectacular evening – or afternoon – with colleagues without breaking your budget. The next five tips we are about to discuss in this post will help you get started in no time.

Hosted Bar vs. Consumption Bar

The cost of serving drinks throughout the party is usually calculated using one of two methods. You can either opt for a hosted bar, where drinks are allocated per guest. You pay for the amount allocated regardless of whether guests choose to have liquor all night. This may be the better option to consider if the party is relatively large and you know your colleagues love to drink.

On the other hand, a consumption bar may be the more economical option, because you will only be paying for drinks that are actually consumed. When the majority of your office colleagues don’t drink liquor, a consumption bar is actually the cheaper alternative of the two.

Beware of Fees

Small fees here and there can quickly become substantial when not managed properly. The late charge you have to pay the venue and the extra electricity fee are often too small to worry about, but they still make the party more expensive. As you start racking up small additional charges from different parts of the party, it won’t be long before you’re spending a few extra hundreds on fees alone.

Prepare Everything

Always plan ahead for the party. Prepare for possible issues and make contingency plans to help you deal with these issues effectively. You must also consider the needs of your guests. If the party is held outdoors, hiring a few Satellite porta potties is definitely worth considering.

You should also check if there will be enough food to last the entire party. The last thing you want is to run out of food when guests are still coming in. The same can be said for drinks and snacks; it is much better to have more than less when hosting a party.

Choose Your Music

A live band is usually the option to go for when planning a business party, but you can actually save more money and still have an absolute blast throughout the night by opting for a DJ. You also have complete control over the sets played and the ambience you want to create with the music selection.

Partner with Other Businesses

It is not uncommon for businesses, particularly those who are sharing the same office space or building, to combine their holiday parties. Instead of paying for individual parties, it is much cheaper to combine resources and work on a slightly bigger party together.

These are just some of the tips that will help you get started with saving money on your next holiday party. Whether you’re a business owner wanting to liven up the mood or you’re the person in charge of setting up the next office party, good luck!
