A Houston man was shot by two officers during what was supposed to be a routine traffic stop after police say he began acting suspiciously.
Michael Paul Walker was sitting in the passenger side of a grey sedan Friday night in southwest Houston when the driver made an illegal lane change. Police next pulled over the car at around 9:30 p.m.
The two officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but Walker allegedly ignored repeated verbal commands from the pair and got out of the vehicle.
One officer, who says he was worried Walker was going to reach for a weapon, fired multiple shots hitting Walker’s legs and side.
The 38-year-old was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Walker has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, but police failed to specify what the drug was.
The officers who discharged their duty weapons, J. Pritchett and M. Montano, in the incident are under further investigation.
No weapon was found in Walker’s possession or inside the vehicle.
We cannot be anti cop as a society. But as a society we have to demand accountability from those who serve and protect us. People need to get involved in their communities, they need to attend city council meetings, they need to be heard when they see injustice in their communities from those who they trust to protect them.
Until the American people change their habits, why should they expect their elected officials to change their habits?

This just goes to show you and all else, if a cop demands your attention, give it to him in a respectful manner until the alleged problem is solved. I am by no means a lover of the men in blue, realizing that every one has their own personality issues, but, people in general fail to accept this one fact along that is turning these otherwise public servants into killers, they are paranoid of everyone until otherwise proven to no less of a trouble maker towards them. Gee I wonder why that is. Half of the population walks around insane, complete with the many mental issues, most unsolved to be acceptable in the public’s mind, others just have a bad attitude towards police in general, and the way the media is hipping up the threat levels from the police versus the civilians, its no wonder we are witnessing the lashing out on both sides. Some are just gunning for a way to get even with these public servants for their own reasons, others are just bad people in general, and most likely have had a bad experience with one of those men in blue, some are just flat out CRIMINALS who are asking foe it, so there are many reasons for this issue to be coming to the fore, none of which warrant bad attitudes on either side. That’s just the way life is at times.
Bottom line, be respectful, there are reasons as to why they are seeking your attention, sometimes is just to confirm your not a criminal, obey commands from the public servants, don’t be doing things that are unlawful and chances are you won’t have a bad hair day while in connection of any public servant, get it. DAMN, at times I wonder if any of these people, cops included, checked out of their common sense application afforded to anyone in this mix of humanity.

But most cops are A-holes with the power of GODs! Regardless they are GOV employees, not all like patriots of past military service, have no morales nor values.
Idiot should have listened! Take off your shirt to show that you are unarmed, what a crock! What kind of an idiot disobeys a cops orders, oh wait, there has been an outbreak of this type of stupidity! All of a sudden its not ok for cops to do their jobs but its ok for thugs and gangsta wannabes to break the law. There certainly is a problem in this country.
*sigh* This kind of thing just makes me sad. Not that the police shot an unarmed man, but because people don’t listen! If you haven’t done anything wrong, don’t give them a reason to pull their weapons. It’s really as simple as that. Find out what’s wrong and move on. That way you don’t end up in the hospital, and there aren’t more reports of “abusive cops”.
