Observation: Country and western singers sing most, if not all, superb patriotic songs.  It is obvious that the stalwart patriots in the United States live in the country and/or in the West.  A great American, Lee Greenwood, sang “God Bless the USA,” which is, without a doubt, the best patriotic song ever.  Patriotic hymns bring tears to my eyes. ~ A USAF Veteran

He who controls the media controls the culture

Francis Schaeffer wrote, “Whoever controls the media controls the culture.”  I jokingly added the following: [Ed. Watch out for George Soros.  Afghanistan sheepherders hold him in high esteem.]

Someone responded with, “I control the media in my home; therefore, I control my home’s culture.”

I then responded with the following:

If you live alone, you do control the culture in your home.  However, if you are married and are not a strict disciplinarian, your spouse, in most likelihood, controls the culture in your home.  Generally speaking, the wife (spouse in this case) spends more hours in the home, spends more time with the children, and, in all probably, controls the media in the home (unless the husband is a tyrant, of course).  The “husband is a tyrant” if he behaves as do Taliban and al-Qaeda men.

The “media” in the above quote concerns the lame-stream media today.  Whoever controls the [lame-stream] media controls the culture.  I was just partially joking when I wrote George Soros above.  The progressives (liberals or progressives comprise about 85% of the media) control a majority of the media today, which Soros is an influential part of with all of his billions (money talks).

Running for Political Office

All those who run for political office and win start out with altruistic intentions.  However, after they are there for a while, they become corrupt.  That is why I feel U.S. senators should be limited to one six-year term and U.S. representatives should be limited to three two-year terms.  Just about the time they start becoming corrupt, they need to go home and find a real job.  That is the only way we will return politics to a more respected profession.  We should allow nobody to make a career of politics spanning 20-30 years.  Politics should be public service, not elitism.
