Australia Facing Labor Shortage Because Of Energy Boom

Here in America, the majority party in our federal government led by President Barack Obama represent abject hostility to fossil fuels. When they aren’t trying to hamstring fossil fuel development with taxes and regulation, they’re squandering billions on green energy pipe dreams meant to be competitive with those fuels.

Meanwhile, our national economy stagnates.

In Australia, though, a boom in natural gas development is giving the country a labor problem in that they may not have enough workers to fill available positions. Which, compared to what America is going through right now, is a good problem to have (via Bruce Oksol).

The world is entering a “golden age of gas” with Australia set to be a key contributor to it.
With seven world-scale liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in the country currently under construction, it is clear that Australia is positioning itself to emerge as the leading player in the global LNG market.

Despite Australia’s ascendancy in the global LNG sector, concerns about the country’s ability to attract and retain a skilled and capable workforce have started surfacing.

There are headaches associated with an energy boom – North Dakotans know this well – but who wouldn’t trade in a static economy for a rapidly expanding job market pumping out prosperity?

The war on fossil fuels perpetrated by the Obama administration and Democrats nationally has done more harm to the economic and social well being of this nation than perhaps anyone can quantify.
