The Michigan House approved a second right-to-work bill on Tuesday that would cover all private employees, by a vote of 58-52.
Republicans have asked for a reconsideration of the votes, which means final passage on the private sector bill, SB 116, before it reaches the Michigan Governor’s desk, will most likely be delayed till tomorrow.
The prospect of the “right to work” bill passing the Michigan State Senate proved upsetting to Union Members as they destroyed the ” Amercians for Prosperty” tent and violence ensued.

The problem with Unions once they have gained basic workplace pay and standards (for those few unethical companies that need the kick in the pants) is that they quickly become greedy and then kill the goose that laid the golden egg. In order for Union membership to even stay level they must always be increasing the number of companies they are in. This is due to the fact that they eventually will destroy the ones they have been in. Of course Unions are also notoriously corrupt and thuggish as well.
Detroit is a basket case thanks to the Unions and years of Liberal rule. They have cut basic services (electricity, street maintenance, sewage and water service, police patrols, etc) to large areas of the city because they have become wastelands. I recall years ago a union taking $ out of my paycheck somewhere and I didn’t remember ever signing anything . I told them to stop & have never been in a union, that being one reason why. Another reason is when I was a teen, I saw union workers on strike while making about 5 times what most people in my state were earning. It was assinine, IMO.
I understand the good that was done through unions to begin with, but they have devolved into political thug gangs, sort of like a legal mafia or something, as these thugs clearly show and as we all see every election year when the union fat-cat bosses try to use union dues to through support behind THEIR choices in elections. The break up of Unions is part of the austerity coming. You don’t hear of any strikes any more. and this is because organization and Unions are being broken up so people can’t organize. For all their faults the Unions served their purpose in the 1900′s to bargain and protect workers from exploitation and abuse from employers. Look at what Carnegie steel did by hiring Pinkerton security and shooting down the strikers at the steel mill. Not they are breaking up the Unions so the same thing of prevention of organization of workers can be set in motion when austerity comes.
