Texas Secession Movement: Rally For Texas Independence To Be Held In Austin On January 8th

The Texas Nationalist Movement plans to hold a rally for Texas independence on Tuesday, January 8th to support the secession movement in that state.
Texas Constitution, Article 1 Section 1: “Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States, and the maintenance of our free institutions and the perpetuity of the Union depend upon the preservation of the right of local self-government, unimpaired to all the States.”
Texas Constitution, Article 1 Section 2: “All political power is inherent in the PEOPLE…”
Texans will gather at the north steps of the Capitol in Austin on Tuesday, January 8th (the opening day of the 2013 Legislative session) at Noon to show their support for the freedom and independence of Texas and to show that all political power is still inherent in the people.
TNM is calling on every Texan who supports the freedom and independence of Texas to rally up on the north side. Bring signs, Texas flags and flags from the Texas Revolution to show that they want their freedom and independence and want the Legislature to answer the call of the people.
WE MUST BRING OVERWHELMING NUMBERS!
The TNM has attempted for months to obtain sponsorship for an officialL rally on the South Steps of the Capitol. However, due to the reluctance and hesitation of the “conservative” members of the Texas Legislature, the TNM and other groups that support Constitutional principles have been blocked out.
Instead, their foot dragging has allowed progressive groups to lock down the official rally space for January 8th. Rather than having Texans in support of Texas independence on the south steps, visitors to the Capitol will be treated to rallies held by groups that revere Van Jones and support illegal immigration.
TNM will not be deterred. It will be on the north side of the Capitol, exercising the right to peacefully assemble. They will be there as a visible sign that Texans are ready for freedom and independence and will stand against the destruction of our liberty.
TNM’s Facebook page advies “Stay connected for more details as they are worked out. TNM is fighting hard for you. Show up and support our efforts.”
The petition at the White House to allow Texas to secede gathered more than 124,311 signatures. Texas had a population of 25,674,681 as of July 2011. The number of signatures represents 0.0048% of the people in Texas. The petition is entitled “Peacefully grant the State of Texas to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.” The petition has so far been ignored by the White House.
The petition reads: “The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government’s neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.” It was created on November 9, 2012.

you go texas !!!
Yes, please go.
IlliniGirl? Is that you Barry?
Thought of the day: Never feed a rampant dog (US Govt.) that wants to kill you. GO TEXAS!!!
We can only hope for their success, then, at long last, we can be rid of their stupidity.
Let’s turn Texas into a giant penal colony…it is already loaded with criminals and rapists.
10-to-1 says Texas whines, bitches and complains when it loses all of its federal monies. The amount they contribute to social programs, construction and education is so far less than what they take in, it’s astounding. The poor will become poorer, the rich will become richer and Texas will crumble like a sugar cookie.
I can’t wait to see what kind of currency Texas will try to come up with, because if it secedes, it can’t use American dollars as its currency anymore. Nor will it be able to trade with any of the other states – no trade agreement means it’ll be left all on its own. No food, no National Guard, no federal grants for *anything*, nadda. Good luck, chumps.
That’s a no brainier, All Texas has to do after Secession, is STOP SENDING THERE TAX $ to the federal tax system and keep there taxpayer dollars in there state, as states on an average only get about 7% of there sent tax money back in federal money. Texas will have about 90% more money and they won’t be supporting the monster that is set to devour this once Great Nation!
You forget, Texas has no money other than US dollars. They have to come up with their own currency and hope that the rest of the world will recognize it as having any value.
Besides, I know Texas likes to revise history, but we did fight a Civil War against you traitors once and won, which settled the question of secession from the Union.
buzz13,
Most the worlds money is backed up by resources or valuable objects, such as gold or silver.
Texas’s money will hold great value as it will be backed by one of the most valuable assets and resources in the world.
Oil.
I’ve already called it, our $1 bill will feature Stephen F. Austin, our $5 bill will feature Sam Houston, our $20 bill will feature Davy Crockett, our $50 bill will feature William Travis, and our $100 bill will feature Jim Bowie.
We can put Rick Perry on the $2 bill
Also, 124,311 people out of 25,674,681 is *not* 0.0048%, it’s 0.48%. Still less than half a percent of the entire Texas population. I’d take that as a sign that the other 99.52% doesn’t want to secede and that these petitioners should STFU.
the OTHER 99% SUCK and will go into slavery without a fight…SO YOU DON’T MATTER
the 1% that stands for liberty is what counts when we are done succeeding we will ship your sheep ass across the border to be a slave by shotgun point.
ya-ll in the great state of Texas, please do not forget the Alamo and the valiant freedom loving warriors from the great state of Tennessee.
For anyone not having the guts to go forward with Texas independence I can recommend 49 other places for you to go!
Looks like I need to support my state and get over to Austin! Hey, maybe with Texas as its own nation, we can vote for better leadership and get rid of Good-ol’-boy-system Rick Perry. He’s practically a D.C. lapdog.
“Without that Washington spending, Rick Perry’s home county would probably go under. Haskell County, Texas, got more that $232 million in taxpayer-funded farm subsidies from the federal government from 1996-2010, including more than $80,000 to Rick Perry himself. At just under 6,000 residents, that comes to more than $40,000 per person. The number one recipient in Haskell County has pulled in more than $2.4 million in taxpayer dollars. Perry got $9,600 in conservation payments, which meant taxpayers were giving him money to do nothing—to let his land lie fallow”
You wouldn’t know it from all the anti-federal government rhetoric that pervaded the 2010 election, the recently concluded Legislative session, or Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s presidential campaign, but Texas received almost $44 billion in direct federal aid to state and local governments in 2010, according to figures released today by the U.S. Census Bureau, making it the single largest funding stream for state government.
“In the next two years, federal funding is going to be $54 billion, which is way ahead of the next largest [revenue source], sales tax,” said Eva de Luna Castro, a budget analyst with the left-leaning Centers for Public Policy Priorities, which campaigned against slashing public education and healthcare for the poor during the Legislative session.
yes sir – texas is one independent state!
no state like texas when it comes to independence.
“Federal Government Employment in Texas
Even though federal employment within the state is independent of the state bureaucracy (except in instances of joint programs), its substantial size warrants a quick look.
Texas has ranked third among states in recent years (including the District of Columbia) in terms of total federal government employment, with almost 166 thousand federal employees working in the state. This does not count the tens of thousands of military personnel at Ft. Hood, home of two of the nation’s ten army divisions, and other military installations.”
“These federal workers are employed around the state in government offices and facilities in almost every major city. One major source of civilian employment is the U.S. Postal Service. With approximately 690 thousand sorters, drivers, retail clerks, and delivery personnel distributed throughout the country, the postal service maintains a large footprint in every state.
Other federal departments and agencies also maintain a large workforce in the state including those in law enforcement, social security, healthcare, education, environmental protection, and more. Adding the number of federal, state and local full-time equivalent positions together equals approximately 6.5 percent of the total Texas population. As a percentage of total full-time employment, this figure would be much higher.”
yehaw! – texas is one independent state!
