In part it could be plausible.
However the Earth and its living Creatures were destroyed many of times,so could it be possible that there are many layers of decayed forests and animal life below the oil deposits that we are tapping presently, and yes there are fissures in the rock that keep releasing oil from below making us believe that it is a regeneration process.
On the other hand if we look at our sun, its Hydrogen appears to be regenerating for billion of years. Will we ever know the real truth?

After growing up accustomed to bright blue skies it’s disheartening to see the trails crisscrossing overhead and morphing into clouds. Our rainy season didn’t materialize this year.
