You nailed it! The US system is like a two-headed monster. In public, the two heads argue and bicker, particularly over which gets the most “food”, but behind the scenes, they are kissing and smooching and sharing the food.
I would say the only difference between the two parties is that there is the rare conservative who has registered as a Republican while there is not a single conservative who has registered as a Democrat in the past 10+ years. But the elites who run both parties are simply heads of the monster and those few conservatives are, at best, ignored, but usually disparaged and their careers destroyed.
Unless 1 to 2 hundred million people actually get up off their butts and march onto Washington and physically yank Mohammad Obama, the Senate and Congress out of their chairs and give them a pink slip we are doomed to continue to live under a corporate/military dictatorship.
