Since the first day of the Obama presidency, we have heard outlandish claims from the White House of the impending reco9very.  But even the extremely modest claims fail to reach fruition.  We are now in the 51st month of the Obama regime and still wondering when the recovery will hit.  I’m guessing 2017.

Some of the more famous claims is that Obama’s green energy initiative would create millions of new jobs.  But in practice, not even the New York Times can keep from regarding those claims as a failure.  Obama would point to Spain and Great Britain as shining examples of how green energy can make the future brighter through wind and solar energy.  Well, he no longer uses them as an example.  A government funded study in Spain was meant to show the benefits green energy had bestowed on the country, however reality is never as bright as rhetoric.  The report found that for every green job created 2.2 jobs were lost and that only 1 in 10 green jobs were permanent.  And when you add in the cost of subsidizing such energy, each green job cost Spain 774,000 dollars since 2000.

The result of high energy prices is that manufacturers whose huge need for energy, were forced to leave the country.  They will not return.  Today, Spain’s unemployment rate is 26.2%.  And even more frightening is the youth unemployment rate that is an astronomical 55.7%.  The government is broke and living off charity, that they are expected to repay but in all likelihood can’t.  The entire country is hurting.  Another shining example of how ideology trumps common sense.

And what about Great Britain?  This year’s global warming brought them heavy snows and very low temperatures and their concentration on green energy left them with 3 days supply of natural gas in the middle of one of the coldest winters they have ever experienced.  As Obama noted, these countries are far advanced in seeking green energy than we are.  Does that mean we still have time to save ourselves?  Certainly not, with Obama standing in the wheelhouse of state.

Now, what about Obama’s own efforts?  In the first presidential debate, Mitt Romney pointed out that Obama had spent 90 billion on green energy.  Although many liberals deny it, it’s all in the 840 billion dollar stimulus bill.  And that number doesn’t even include the 20 billion a year we spend in tax breaks for green energy, such as the 7500 dollar credit for buying a green vehicle, which as it turned out included golf carts.  (4200 to 5500 when program first began)  Some states had their own incentives and many people were able to buy a golf cart for free or next to nothing. There was also no limit to how many you could buy and enterprising individuals would make deals at huge discounts and with their tax breaks accumulate a large quantity they could sell later at an astronomical profit.

And much of his green investments went down the rabbit hole, like with Solyndra, that cost taxpayers 529 million dollars, all for the benefit of Obama mega donor George Kaiser.  Another interesting aspect of this deal is that Obama gave away the taxpayers right of first recovery, which has never been done before, meaning Kaiser would get his money and the taxpayers wouldn’t. Another company Kaiser had a large interest in got a 737 million dollar loan.  That company’s number two man is none other than Ronald Pelosi, brother in law of then Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. The list of bankrupt green energy companies getting taxpayer money is long and littered with Obama donors.

Let’s move on to jobs.  In any recovery, creating jobs is paramount.  It allows families to earn a living and increases the tax revenue taken in by the government.  The stimulus bill which cost 840 billion and will, according to the CBO be a drag on the economy for over a decade, and only created 700,000 jobs at it’s peak.  So we spent 840 billion dollars to create a maximum of 700,000 jobs?  That means each job created cost taxpayers 1.2 million dollars.  We could have paid unemployed workers 40,000 for the year to sit home and do nothing and that would be equivalent to   21 million jobs.  Or even 1 million jobs for 21 years.  Liberals consider this a success, even though we had 2.6 million less jobs when the stimulus was complete than we did when Obama signed the bill.

Also does anyone remember this claim from Joe “Shut up, Joe!!!” Biden?

“All in all we’re going to be creating somewhere between 100[,000] and 200,000 jobs next month, I predict,” Biden said, according to a pool report, adding that he “got in trouble” for a job growth prediction last month. “Even some in the White House said, ‘Hey, don’t get ahead of yourself.’ Well, I’m here to tell you, some time in the next couple of months, we’re going to be creating between 250,000 jobs a month and 500,000 jobs a month.”  That claim was made 3 years ago this month.  And while liberals claimed that Republicans were against creating jobs, the truth is they passed 36 jobs bills that Harry Reid shoved into his garbage pail. (The literal one beside his desk, not the DNC)

Since the economy needs to add 150,000 jobs a month just to keep pace with population growth, it’s easy to see why we have an ever increasingly large deficit in jobs.  There are a record 90 million not in the workforce and over 9 million people have given up finding a job .  If those people were added to the unemployment rolls, our unemployment rate would be 11.3%.  Liberals tell us continually that Ronald Reagan is responsible for the economy and lack of jobs, so just as a reference, I am including job growth for both of them.

So, I ask you, my friends to wake me up when the recovery gets here or on Feb 13th, 2016 when I turn 60, whichever comes first.  (And don’t forget my cake and presents)
