According to a recent Gallup survey, most people hate their jobs. Seven out of ten employees have “checked out” or are “actively disengaged.”

You Can Do Something

You can do something. You can get some power. But it’s up to you. You have to do it, along with your co-workers. But you don’t have to do it alone – organized labor will help you. You can organize your workplace and demand that your employer negotiate with you for better pay and better working conditions. It is the law of the land that this is your right.

The organized labor movement is a movement of people who take the power into their own hands, organize and take collective action.

Labor is a democratic movement, which means it is up to you; you are in control but you also have to do the work. You can’t just rely on someone to show up and do it for you.

But it pays off. People just like you in your workplace organized and brought us the weekend and the minimum wage and the other things that helped bring prosperity to our country – at least until Reagan started turning that around.
