Would you break an unconstitutional gun law to protect your family?
According to WYFF.com, Police are investigating after officers said two young men robbed a couple as they walked in downtown Greenville.
Lt. Jason Rampey, of the Greenville Police Department, said it happened around 11:27 p.m. Friday.
Rampey said a 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were walking on Augusta Street near University Street when they were approached from behind by two men.
One of the men pointed a gun at the couple and demanded their wallets and cell phones, Rampey said.
This is not an isolated situation. These types of crimes are increasing and visiting downtown Greenville is becoming more dangerous at night.
A few months ago my wife and I went to eat downtown. One of the nearby restaurants were robbed by two gang members. I am a CWP holder but had to leave my weapon in the car because S.C. law prevents me from carrying concealed weapons into restaurants that serve alcohol, which is essentially every downtown restaurant.
My wife and I could have been victims that night.

Kind of surprising that after all the money and work that have gone into the downtown area renovation that Greenville police would allow it to be taken over by criminals. If they don’t get control of the violence going on quick people will stop visiting and spending money with downtown merchants. Business owners need to be raising cane at the council meetings now before it is too late. It is costing them money right now.
Here is another hint to downtown restaurant owners. I will no longer go downtown to eat because of the state law disallowing carrying concealed into restaurants that serve alcohol. Criminals don’t obey laws and it prevents anyone from protecting themselves or their family from attacks such as this one while coming and going from restaurants at night in the downtown area. Criminals know this and use this law to prey on victims unable to protect themselves. This law is costing downtown restaurant owners money. Not to mention jeopardizing the safety and lives of those who may wish to eat out after dark in the downtown area.
Last session thousands of South Carolina citizens demanded their representatives to pass pro-gun legislation to pass open carry and restaurant carry.
Thousands of citizens cited the second amendment, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” and demanded the senators to obey their oath to protect and uphold the constitution. Senator Shane Martin and Lee Bright advocated civil disobedience if this bill fails in the senate; however, the two senators urged citizens to get involved and put pressure on their representatives.
The problem is that S.C. has too many RINOs (Republican in Name Only) that control the state house that block pro-gun legislation.
We can no longer wait and hope that politicians will pass pro-gun legislation. Our rights are already outlined in the U.S. Constitution and any law that infringes on my right to carry a gun to protect myself and others is unconstitutional.
It is my God given right to protect myself and my family. I refuse to be a victim.
