Phoenix, AZ–Monday, March 10, 2014 is a major milestone for Debra Milke. She’s seen above with her mother together with out bullet proof glass and steel that separated them for nearly a quarter century or half of her entire life.

Milke awaits he failing efforts of a committed Fascist Maricopa County prosecutor to retry her on a bogus Capital Murder charge. It’s failing because the only evidence against Milke is he redundant perjury of a disgraced former cop, Armando Saldate. Saldate has since wisely sought legal protection by invoking his rights against self-incrimination and has refused to testify.

Even if Saldate was somehow forced to testify he’s be exposed as a serial perjurer and has zero credibility now. Milke has maintained her innocence from the day her worst nightmare began in December of 1989.

Milke has been free on bail for many months now and looks forward to getting her name and reputation finally cleared. She’s had to learn about the technology and social changes that have occurred while she languished on Arizona’s Death Row for 24 years.

The matter of Saldate’s future testimony is before the Arizona Court of Appeals and no action is anticipated until sometime next month.

Milke has longed for things like taking a bath, getting preventative and restorative dental care or having simple grooming material that all women need were never available to her on Death Row. Her life was reduced to abject punishment, deprivation and loneliness. Now all of that is thankfully over.

I want to wish Debbie her best and Happiest Birthday ever.
