ISIS, the Saudi and CIA supported and U.S. military trained terror army, has supposedly posted its five year “expansion” plan on Twitter.

The map shows the al-Qaeda offshoot occupying the entire Middle East, including Israel, the Arabian Peninsula, North Africa, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indonesia and, most absurd of all, India. It apparently plans to do this with less than 40 thousand jihadists.

ISIS will probably never get out of Iraq and Syria, but that is beside the point. The idea is to keep the group in the headlines and amp up propaganda designed to feed the war on terror beast. This is done primarily through social media and sensationalistic stories floated by the establishment media. The group has even deployed an Arabic-language Twitter app called The Dawn of Glad Tidings, known as Dawn for short, in the effort to make it seem technologically savvy.

“A rapid stream of ISIS victories, massive amounts of media coverage and millions of breathless tweets have had a powerful combined effect on the group’s image,” writes John Little. “Like LulzSec at it’s height they appear to be unstoppable. And while they are a massively destabilizing force in the region, the general public (and many journalists) should start taking a much more critical view of their propaganda. This five year projection would be a good place to start.”

There is ample evidence that show that the Obama administration suppressed repeated warnings from the US intelligence community on the growing terrorist threats to Iraq posed by the ISIS terrorists. Shades of 9/11, and Libya.

A senior US intelligence official said the intelligence community had warned about the ISIS threat, Fox News reported on June 24. “During the past year, the intelligence community has provided strategic warning of Iraq’s deteriorating security situation,” the official said. “We routinely highlighted [ISIS's] growing threat in Iraq, the increasing difficulties Iraq’s security forces faced in combating [ISIS], and the political strains that were contributing to Iraq’s declining stability.” Asked who failed to act, the official did not explain.

This report dovetails with a number of others, which underscore the cover-up. Most significantly, EIR has been told by a qualified source that there was a Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) written report issued in December 2013, which warned of the ISIS threat to the country.

US Secretary of State John Kerry says the United States hopes to enlist so-called “moderate” Syrian militants in the battle against terrorists in neighboring Iraq.

Kerry made the remarks on Friday in Jeddah where he also met with Saudi Arabian King Abdullah.

US President Barack Obama on Thursday requested $500 million from Congress to train and arm militants fighting the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

Militants from the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) are spilling over form Syria’s border into Iraq and threatening to overwhelm the country. Over the past days, heavy clashes have been underway between Iraqi armed forces and the ISIL terrorists, who have threatened to spread their acts of violence to Baghdad and other Iraqi cities.

“Obviously, in light of what has happened in Iraq, we have even more to talk about in terms of the moderate opposition in Syria, which has the ability to be a very important player in pushing back against ISIL’s presence and to have them not just in Syria, but also in Iraq,” Kerry said at the start of a meeting with Syrian militant leader Ahmad al-Jarba.

Al-Jarba thanked the Obama administration for requesting the $500 million, but said his men want even more foreign aid for their so-far unsuccessful effort to oust Assad.

Washington has been openly supporting the armed opposition in Syria both financially and militarily in the years-long conflict that ravaged the Arab nation.

A recent report shows that the ISIL terrorists were trained by the CIA in Jordan more than two years ago. The report said that the militants were initially trained at the time as part of covert aid to the militants operating inside Syria.

Eric Margolis: It’s hard to know what to call them these days because there are jihadists on both sides, let us say he is trying to boost the strength of the US-backed jihadists in Syria by providing them with powerful anti-aircraft and antitank weapons which they need, hoping that they won’t fall into hands of anti-US jihadists. The way they are going to do this is apparently to conduct interviews to find out if these jihadists are moderates or not moderates.

I cannot think how the government is going to be able to think to distinguish these people. The US government in its wisdom has great trouble figuring out these countries, and certainly Syria and Iraq are at the top of the list. “Will the real moderate jihadists please stand up and indicate that” – it almost has a comical flavor too. Certainly it has an air of desperation about it I can’t take it is going to work and what will happen is that many of the US arms coming in from Turkey will probably end up in the hands of ISIS and other anti-Western groups

At the end of the day Blair, Bush, Cheney, AIPAC, the British Friends of Israel, and plenty more, are all worse than Al Qaeda, and they have a much higher body count to prove it. They share the same lack of remorse, and would do it all over again, if given the chance.

For my money, if we want to go after terrorists, I vote for taking out the ones here at home first before fooling around with the small fries in far away places. Iraqi news tells us that 2 million men have signed up to fight their Jihadi tormentors. How many would like to sign up to do the same in the West?
