Obama’s War on Women: Why is He Delaying Health Care for Women When He Could Solve Birth Control Problem w/ His Pen? #HobbyLobby

The answer is clear. Just as in nearly every other Obama issue, politics trumps action!

The left went into a real tizzy after the Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case. It’s impossible to overstate their hysteric hyperbole. It came from Hillary Clinton on down. You would have thought women would no longer be able to get birth control.

Hillary said this decision meant:

“employers can impose their religious beliefs on their employees, and, of course, denying women the right to contraceptives as part of a health care plan is exactly that.”
…
“It’s very troubling that a sales clerk at Hobby Lobby who need contraception, which is pretty expensive, is not going to get that service through her employer’s health care plan because her employer doesn’t think she should be using contraception.”

Just one problem. None of that is true. No employer may use this decision to “impose their religious beliefs on their employees,” and no one is denying women the right to contraceptives.

Hobby Lobby, which pays it’s employees $14/hour, nearly double the minimum wage, pays 100% of the cost for a wide variety of birth control for women. These include:

Male condoms
Female condoms
Diaphragms with spermicide
Sponges with spermicide
Cervical caps with spermicide
Spermicide alone
Birth-control pills with estrogen and progestin (“Combined Pill)
Birth-control pills with progestin alone (“The Mini Pill)
Birth control pills (extended/continuous use)
Contraceptive patches
Contraceptive rings
Progestin injections
Implantable rods
Vasectomies
Female sterilization surgeries
Female sterilization implants

And no woman who chooses to use other methods is denied the right to do so.

But Hillary went on and compared the decision in this case to the extreme governments which deny women any say in their lives. She also insisted that as Secretary of State she was “adamant about including women and girls in our foreign policy, not as a luxury but as a central issue.” Except she can’t point to a single example of where she actually advanced women’s rights in these countries.

Hillary’s oblique comparison to the Taliban wasn’t the worst of what radical women were saying about the Hobby Lobby decision. Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz went off the deep end as she is prone to do and said: “It’s a decision that blocks women from being able to make their own health care decisions, not just reproductive health care decisions, but health care decisions in general.” And she blamed it all on Republicans!

Not to be outdone, other liberal leaders compared this to a new “apartheid…Jim Crow” and “gender biogtry.”

How did women get health care before ObamaCare made it free? And is there no lie that the left won’t say about the Hobby Lobby decision in order to gin up the fearmongering and anger among women who are so poorly informed that this kind of blatant manipulation works?

If Republicans tried something like this the media would crucify them. But in lefty land, if you are going to tell a lie, tell a whopper. But wait…there’s more…

From Zeke Miller at Time Magazine points out that Obama has a remedy which he could apply today to fix this but will instead:

delay[] the arrival of a solution for those women who will now be denied certain contraceptive coverage. All signs Monday pointed to the fact that Democrats would rather stage a political fight over the issue than quickly resolve it for the affected women.

So, if women are suffering grievous harm by not having free access to every form of birth control, the  person to blame is Obama. He’s more interested in milking this issue for political gain than solving the problem. Sound familiar?
