3,600 Yard Shot

Having fired ‘Expert’ many times in the Marines, and also having enjoyed sport shooting and general hunting for several decades; I have to say that I just don’t see the sense in building such custom rifles that can fire a projectile that can travel mach 6, hold flight for 7-8 seconds, and hit ‘large’ (larger by 2x than a human) targets on the far end.

This is ‘artillery distance’, not ‘rifle distance’.

What purpose does such a rifle serve? It draws bad attention during a volatile time far more than it helps resolve anything. Then again, this could be said about black rifles, too.

A fine example of this is the current ‘ammo grab’ going on with 5.56mm. Were it not for the liberal ‘fear’ of ‘assault rifles’, this SS109/M855 ammo grab wouldn’t be a current happening. As a result of the ‘black rifle groupies’, now you can’t find decent 5.56mm ammo regardless of the rifle you shoot (like the Ruger Mini-14, as well as various break-action and bolt-action traditional arms).

In the end, it’s always extremists who ‘wrap themselves’ in a ‘protective convention’ (like the Constitution), make as much publicity as they can about it, dare the majority who don’t like their standpoint to come get them, and eventually give up letting the majority have their way in the end, anyhow.

This will be no different. Thanks black-rifle-groupies, you’ve cost us all, and you don’t care, all you’ll do is sit back down on your couch and cry about your own personal losses without a single thought of how your actions caused it.
