Well folks, if a man is able to throw on a dress and some makeup and call himself a woman, and a woman is able to take off the dress, don a pair of jeans and suspenders and call herself a man, would it not also be appropriate for a non-Native American to claim to be a Native American because he or she identifies as being a Native American?
Think about it… Although some men or women might identify themselves as being the opposite gender of what their DNA has determined, regardless of their attempts to change their biological identity, their DNA remains the same. Simply put, they remain the same gender genetically. If one exercises logical critical thinking skills, and in consideration of empirical genetic confirmation, would it not suggest that their perceived and newly acclaimed identity is false?
One might ask why the law of the land recognizes transgendered individuals as being the polar opposite gender that their DNA has determined and maintains. That being said, would it not be appropriate for a person who has no genetic link to Native American ethnicity to be recognized by the law of the land as being Native America based on the fact that one might identify or feel they are Native American?
More importantly, will the Native American tribes recognize a person who is not Native American as being Native American if that person identifies as being Native American? If so, could that person be entitled to join the tribe and reap the benefits of the tribe’s accomplishments and labor, such as dividends paid to members from the casino business? What about free health care? If not, why?
