At five minutes after 1:00 pm on September 23, 2015, exactly 4 hours, and four minutes after the latest prophecy of doom said the ‘kill shot asteroid’ would strike Luxembourg, five people in black suits walked into the First Ave and Wall Street branch of the OneBank Corporation.

All five wore sunglasses which, as though on a single silent command, they each carefully removed and placed in their inner, suit pocket.

The tall blonde woman among them placed herself squarely in front of the double doors through which they had just entered, and carefully placed a printed sign across the windows, facing out, while she locked the doors together.

The shorter, red haired woman, carrying a briefcase, as did one of the three males, quickly jumped up the inner stairs and bringing her hand out of her suit waving a wallet identity card, starts shouting for the branch manager.

The two males not carrying briefcases were lugging very large, thick green plastic totes on wheels. Excepting the woman now obviously guarding the door while waving patrons away after pointing to the sign, all followed their red headed leader and bolted to the interior of the bank.

After considerable amount of raised voices, alarm, and consternation, waving of identity badges, and presentation of paperwork, the bank branch manager, and his employees calmed down and set about the tasks the red haired woman shot out while the branch manager nodded his head and urged his staff to greater speed.

It was just near time to lock up the main doors some two hours after assisting the five black suited agents to their vehicle with all those records and computer disks, as the branch manager was just about to turn the key that the thought occurred to him that it would have been a hell of a lot easier if the agents had just parked down in the restricted lots in the basement the way the rest of the government…..

“…so you WERE robbed!” stated Detective Smedly definitively…finally putting an end to the matter some two hours after arriving at the scene of just exactly what the hell he still was not sure.

“well….there you go again.” stammered the branch manager. “I am just not sure! They were government agents! They had every right to take what they took…..i think…!?!”

“…but we are SURE that they WERE government agents, yes?” Smedly implored, yet again.

“…well….i think so…they had badges and id papers….” replied the branch manager.

“…but you did not get their names….” Smedly asked wearily, already it was a long evening and threatening to go all night.

“Well, there i can be definitive. They told me that they did not have to tell me their names. In fact, according to the Law under which they operate, it is illegal for me to hear their names.” The branch manager responded.

“….but their names were ON their ID’s, yes?”

“Well, detective, as a matter of fact, no. But they were valid ID’s, excepting that no names or photographs were there. You see, it was illegal for me, us, to know their names at all….part of the documents they provided.” Here the branch manager lifted a foot thick stack of bound papers off his desk. “They said they were not legally required to leave this, but they knew i would have to provide answers to my supervisors about the 20 million dollars and all those documents that they took. And i am sure pleased…even if it does not say much. Like them. These new secret laws you know. ”

Smedly looked again at the stack of ‘documents’, bound sheets of printer paper with every line covered in a black strip over every word or symbol. “Not much use to me….so, were you robbed or not? I need to get to my dinner. ” Detective Smedly sputtered.

“Well, i guess, i would say, ‘not’….maybe, if it weren’t for that last line on the documents, i never would have called….it was rather peculiar to see a government paper end with that line.”

The tired detective, and puzzled manager both stared at the last line on the last page of the bound documents left by the ‘agents’.
