Why Is Western Media So Slow To Cover Saudi Arabia’s Slaughter in Yemen?

Since Saudi Arabia began its war of aggression against its neighbor Yemen back in March 25, 2015, western media have been very slow to place the blame on the country who is actually dropping the bombs on the Yemeni people.

The first step in the western propaganda operation surrounding the sacking of Yemen is how the west labels the conflict as the “Yemen Civil War” when its obvious how foreign powers are driving the conflict and its death toll. What’s much worse however, is how Saudi Arabia’s targeting of civilian areas in Yemen is cynically referred to by the half-hearted New York Times as “errant coalition strikes”

Such is the level of denial and arrogance by the dictatorial Saudi monarchy’s US-equipped Wahabist military, that when confronted with a direct question about the Yemeni civilians they are killing – they will routinely deny their own involvement in any civilians being murdered from the air.

According to Brig. Gen. Ahmed Asiri, the “coalition” spokesman, when asked whether the airstrikes had killed noncombatants his response was simply: “Why would we acknowledge something that doesn’t exist?”…………………..

One Million Yemenis Mobilized to Fight against S. Arabia

Over one million Yemeni political and tribal forces have been mobilized in preparation for what has been termed by the Saudi-led coalition forces as “the decisive battle”.

According to Hasad al-Youm news website, at present over one million Yemenis, including the tribal people, those who had been dismissed from the army during the presidency of Mansour Hadi and a number of Ikhwan members, have been armed and contacted to stand united again.

Based on the report, all these forces have stressed their preparedness to fight against Saudi Arabia and operations in the Saudi territories.

Other media reports said today that the Yemeni army and popular forces gained control of the border city of al-Rabouah in the Saudi province of al-Asir.

Al-Masirah news channel released footages of the Yemeni forces’ full control over al-Rabouah city in Saudi Arabia.

The TV footages showed that the Yemeni army easily surrounded a military base in the city without any Saudi resistance, set fire to 17 military vehicles and destroyed its watchtower and weapons cache.

A Yemeni military source said that tens of Saudi soldiers were also killed in the attack and others fled the scene.

Also, the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television reported that the Yemeni army and popular forces fired 15 missiles and rockets at a Saudi military base in Asir on Monday and before taking the city of al-Rabouah.

The TV report added that the missiles hit al-Hajer military base in Asir.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 173 days now to restore power to fugitive president Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh. The Saudi-led aggression has so far killed at least 5,847 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Hadi stepped down in January and refused to reconsider the decision despite calls by Ansarullah revolutionaries of the Houthi movement.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.

Yemen’s air defense forces downed a Saudi Apache helicopter gunship in Ma’rib province.

The Yemeni army’s air defense forces supported by Ansarullah popular committees shot down the helicopter on Sunday with a surface-to-air missile in the district of Horaib in the Central province of Ma’rib, al-Manar news channel reported.

Also yesterday, Ansarullah forces stopped the invasion of the Saudi-backed militants affiliated to fugitive president Mansour Hadi into Ma’rib.

The militants, backed by Saudi-led coalition troops, sought to advance towards Hamma al-Masaria region in Ma’rib but Ansarullah forces prevented them from entering the region.

The Yemeni army and popular forces regained control of new areas in the province of Taiz on Monday.

The Yemeni forces regained control of strategic areas, including military bases, in Jabel Jara and al-Nour city in Taiz, according to the Arabic-language al-Mayadeen television.
