Earlier on Thursday, in a message marking Christmas, the Iranian Resistance’s President-elect offered her greetings especially to Christians in Iran and around the world.

Drawing on the fact that this year the birthday of Jesus Christ, the prophet of peace and freedom, coincides with that of the Prophet Mohammad, Mrs. Rajavi wished that the year 2016 would be a year of friendship and brotherhood among followers of all faiths and a year of unity and victory over Islamic extremism and especially the religious fascism ruling Iran, and its evil allies, who sow the seeds of hatred, violence, and sectarianism around the globe. She added: When our world is under the attack of terror and extremism, we can find the light of freedom and tolerance and perseverance against fundamentalism and extremism in these births.

Linda Chavez, former white house Public Liaision, once called Iran’s democratic resistance movement as ‘the only hope for a peaceful, nuclear-free Iran’. This is actually the cry of Iranians inside and outside their country that the hope for peace does not rest with the fundamentalist Ayatollahs but with the Iranian people and their resistance.
Christmas is time to think about good things, to pray and wish the best for the others. New Year eve is a time to look in the past to be able to see the future. Thinking of 2015 may pain our hearts in remembering those young, old, juveniles, innocent men and women who were savagely slain by the terrorists. French people mourned for their loved ones. Same occurred In England, California, in the Middle East, and in Iraq where Mrs. Rajavi lost some members of her organization there.

On Christmas and New Year Eve we can pray for 2016. We pray for a prosperous year with less misery, less diseases and les terrorism. These are all achieved by man’s good faith that evil will not last forever, that we can wipe out diseases and we can defeat fundamentalism. To do so, let us pray for Iranian resistance in its fight against man’s most barbaric enemy today, ‘the fundamentalist terrorists’.

The origin of terrorism today is in Tehran and the regime that ironically calls itself ‘Islamic Republic’. To counter terrorism that is our wish on the occasion of the birth day of the messenger of peace, we have to disarm the Mullahs not only from nuclear weapons but much worse and much more dangerous from committing their crimes under the banner of ‘Islam’ or ‘the will of God’. As Mrs. Rajavi has said, Islam is shocked by such barbarism. There is no dispute between Shiites and Sunnis, Muslims and Christians, or nations of the Middle East and West or their cultures. The dispute, however, is between ruling dictatorships and nations who seek freedom’.

With Iranian regime’s support for terrorist organizations in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq and with sending its suppressive IRGC guards to help Bashar Assad, the world has come to know the real source of terrorism that is the regime of Ayatollahs in Iran.  This has been the pricey and bloody war front of the Iranian resistance for the past four decades. In recent years, the massacre of hundreds of thousands of Sunnis in Iraq and Syria at the hands of the Iranian regime and its proxies has provided a wellspring of sociopolitical sustenance for the Islamic State. Iran is propping this extremist hydra up on all sides, and finding new and creative ways to reinvigorate the beast as our security and intelligence missions stride in its wake.  In our pray for peace in 2016 let us recite Maryam Rajavi ‘s words,’ , “We have to tell the U.S. government that if you do not want to see the clerical regime equipped with a nuclear bomb, stop appeasing it.”

If Iran is one of the linchpins that legitimize the global Islamic extremist threat, what is to be done?
History tells us that nothing is more dangerous for fundamentalism and extremism than democratic and moderate ideals. This has been made clear in Iran, where the regime’s suppressive tactics find their chief targets are the moderate Muslim factions, including the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK).

As the leader of Iranian resistance has stated,’ the breed of extremism that we face today is a lethal cocktail of medieval barbarism and modern-day fascism. It is a worldview that shuns political tolerance, promotes misogyny, and, of course, glorifies violence. This specific brand . . . has never had any connections to Islam, and there is clearly no place in the modern world for such a worldview.

In the joyous moments of Christmas and new year let us resonate our voices with the wish that Linda Chavez made,’ now is the time for the U.S. to abandon its policy of appeasement and engage with the democratic resistance movement. The only hope for a peaceful, nuclear-free Iran is for there to be a free Iran’.
