Yemen peace talks underway in Kuwait amid Saudi air raids

Peace talks among Yemen’s political factions are underway in Kuwait amid Saudi Arabia’s continued bombardment across the country.
On Friday, the Special UN Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmed hailed the positive and constructive results of the first session. Sheikh Ahmad says the truce, which came into effect earlier this month, is respected to a fair degree but blamed both warring sides for violations. Meanwhile, Saudi warplanes carried out several airstrikes on the provinces of Ta’izz and Bayda, killing at least four civilians, including a child. Saudi Arabia has constantly bombed different positions across Yemen since March last year. The war has claimed the lives of more than 9400 people so far.
