Corporate media in the West ignore, ridicule and exaggerate their motives, but terrorism has already given the Iraqi forces enough energy and resolve to gain the victory in Fallujah, one of only two major cities – the other being Mosul – still controlled by ISIL.

Here, backed by Iranian military advisors, the Iraqi Army and volunteer forces are not fighting with just one enemy. As they close in on Fallujah, they are facing what is essentially a global media smear campaign and a city-wide hostage crisis, littered with suicide car bombs and booby traps. ISIL fighters, too scared to meet the forces face-to-face in battle, are believed to be holding civilians in the center of the city, hoping that government troops and their allies will refrain from launching an all-out assault for fear of killing innocents.

As a starting point, the forces may have to fight the battle more than once, but in the end they will win it, just as the way they won the battles of Ramadi and Tikrit. This is because all the war-propaganda, all the screaming, lies, hatred, and demonization comes invariably from those who are not fighting the Real War on Terror.

Also, the corporate media would like us to believe that even if the city is liberated, the mainly Sunni population of Fallujah still has reason to fear. The frantic propagandists claim the Iranian-backed Shiite volunteer forces in the past have massacred Sunni civilians, and that they will do the same in Fallujah. Lies after lies.

No doubt, these silly fabrications don’t hold water anymore. What is remarkable here is that they are only designed to support ISIL, slander the resistance, and defame victory. For the forces, the rules of engagement are not about burning and looting. Many people in Fallujah have welcomed the ground offensive, which is humane and opportune. They are not fearful of what happens next when the city is liberated either. The Iraqi-led and Iranian-backed campaign to liberate Fallujah paves the way for the liberation of Mosul. It has nothing to do with sectarian tensions.

It’s clear that as the fighting intensifies, the Iraqi forces are doing everything possible to minimize the number of civilian casualties. They have isolated and surrounded the city, and safely evacuated many residents away from the outskirts. They have established safe corridors to allow the remaining civilians to flee, even though ISIL checkpoints along the main roads make escape difficult. After two years living under the black flag of terror, the people of this sprawling conurbation beside the Euphrates will soon be able to live in freedom and safety.

The ground offensive to uproot ISIL is a major blow to the terrorist group and those who facilitated its rise and bear much responsibility for the growth of extremist ideologies that promote intolerance, Wahhabism, and Jihadi terrorism. For the allied forces, it’s a cause well worth fighting for.

Their commitment to the security of Iraq and the region is unshakable now and in the future. They are fighting the good fight, whatever the cost may be. The good fight is never about alleged Iranian aggression and hegemonic designs. It’s about people. It’s about getting them out of terrorism, humanitarian catastrophe, and disintegration.

Retaking Raqqa From the Islamic State

https://www.stratfor.com/analysis/retaking-raqqa-islamic-state

The battle for Raqqa, the Islamic State’s self-declared capital in Syria, has begun. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) are advancing toward the city, engaging the jihadist group in the villages of al-Hisha, Tal Samen and Mutamshirij along the way. Because of Raqqa’s strategic importance, the Islamic State will do everything in its power to keep the city within its grasp. Driving the militants from their stronghold will not be easy or cheap, but if the SDF is successful, it will greatly accelerate the Islamic State’s defeat in Syria. Analysis

For months, the SDF, backed by the United States, has been positioned on the front lines roughly 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of Raqqa. Videos have emerged showing large convoys, including tank transporters carrying armored vehicles, moving throughout the area as the group prepared to retake the city from the Islamic State fighters who captured it in 2013. Over the past week, the United States began dropping leaflets on Raqqa urging its citizens to leave, proclaiming, “The time you have awaited has arrived. It’s time to leave Raqqa.” Then on May 21-22, U.S. Gen. Joseph Votel — the top U.S. Central Command general and the highest-ranking U.S. official to travel to Syria during the conflict — visited SDF fighters in the country’s north. As the signs of impending battle mounted, the Islamic State began making preparations of its own, ramping up its defenses throughout Raqqa. And on May 24, the SDF made its move, announcing the start of its long-awaited advance.

But just how close the group is able to get to the heart of the city will be determined by one thing: its ethnic composition. Raqqa is a city with an Arab majority. Because the SDF and its backers want to not only retake the city but also to hold and govern it, they will need a sizable Arab force if they hope to achieve their objectives with local support. However, the SDF is currently dominated by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), which have been effective against the Islamic State in territory they are familiar with in the north and northeast but are less inclined to spearhead operations farther south toward Raqqa. Moreover, the deeper the Kurds push into overwhelmingly Arab territory, the more they risk cementing local populations’ suspicions of the rebels and support for the Islamic State.

The situation with the boiler at Mare http://colonelcassad.livejournal.com/276 8472.html are booming

The defense of “green” south of Azaz frankly breaks and complete picture of the military defeat of pro-Turkish groups is becoming more depressing. By the evening of May 27 advanced units of the Caliphate began to approach the road leading from Azaz to the border, and there to the border with Turkey on the doorstep. The positions of the Caliphate now near the city of Azaz.

It is believed that if Turkey over the next 1-2 days will not take anything, the disaster of “green” to the north of Aleppo may purchase total. This will mean that Erdogan’s policies in northern Syria suffered a final defeat. So far today, the Turkish bronetehnkia went 1-1.5 kilometers into the territory of the Canton of Afrin, but by itself Azaz is that the Turkish aid is not particularly felt. Maybe late at night to start the Turkish artillery strikes.

Caliphate in the evening began to dump photos with trophies and numerous corpses “fighters for democracy against the bloody Syrian Assad regime,” showing its most resounding victory in recent months, which is slightly brightens them unsuccessful fighting in central Syria against the Kurds and the CAA under the RACC.

So far, we are seeing the biggest defeat of the “green” of the Caliphate from October 2015, when they suffered a crushing defeat to the north of Aleppo.

It is remarkable how a couple of weeks ago, is developing successfully advance “green” turned this defeat.

In general, this story is another clear example that we should not underestimate the “black”. Those who admit such a mistake, then it is very serious for the price.

Syria in Last 24 Hours: Kurdish Forces Destroy Militants’ Defense Lines in Aleppo Province
Syria’s Kurdish forces destroyed the defense lines of the Takfiri terrorists in Aleppo province.

The Kurdish forces inflicted heavy losses on the militants in Aleppo province, killing scores of militants and injuring many more in heavy clashes.

In other key provinces across Syria, the Syrian army and popular forces also hit hard the military positions of the Takfiri terrorists.

Aleppo

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) stormed the terrorist groups’ strongholds in the Northern territories of Aleppo province and pushed the militants back from a key road in the battlefield.

The SDF fighters, after hours of non-stop battle, opened the road connecting Sheikh Issa to Tal Rifat to transfer the trapped families from Marea to Tal Rifat and then move them towards Afrin.

Military sources announced on Saturday that the Syrian Army has dispatched a number of the Russian-made T-90 Tanks to Northwestern Aleppo province for imminent operation there.

“More anti-TOW T90 Tanks, which have given the Syrian army the upper hand in battles against the militant groups across Aleppo province, have been sent to the Northwestern battlefields of the province to join a large-scale operation against the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front,” the sources said.

Homs

The Syrian and Russian fighter jets, in a fresh wave of joint combat flights, targeted the ISIL centers in energy-rich regions of Eastern Homs more than thirty times and inflicted major losses on the terrorists, military sources said.

“The ISIL positions near the villages of Rahoum and Abu Hawadid near al-Sha’er mountain came under the heavy bombardment of the Russian and Syrian warplanes,” the sources said, adding, “Tens of the ISIL members were killed or wounded and their military equipment were destroyed in the attacks.”

Hama

The Syrian army identified and seized an ISIL vehicle carrying a large volume of arms and ammunition in the Northeastern part of Hama province.

The Syrian soldiers stopped a large truck on a road connecting Ithriya in Hama province to Raqqa city and discovered a large volume of ammunition and weapons.

Several ISIL terrorists were killed in the clashes that erupted before the seizure.

Sweida

The Syrian military forces, tipped off by intelligence agents, stopped a truck carrying a number of missiles and different types of explosive devices for the terrorist groups in Southern Sweida province.

The Syrian soldiers discovered a large stockpile of weapons, including tens of missiles and a large volume of explosive materials, in a truck on a road in Southern Sweida heading to the terrorist-held regions in Eastern Badiyeh.

Deir Ezzur

The Syrian Army troops and Air Force targeted the ISIL gatherings and defense lines near the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur, inflicting a heavy death toll on the terrorists.

The Syrian fighter jets carried out several combat flights over the ISIL positions near al-Tharda mountain, in the Western side of Deir Ezzur airport and al-Sina’ah district, which claimed the lives of tens of militants and destroyed their deport of arms and ammunition.

The Syrian soldiers, for their part, engaged in heavy fighting with the ISIL across the neighborhoods of the sieged city of Deir Ezzur, which ended in the killing or wounding of several terrorists.

Idlib

A number of field commanders of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front, including non-Syrians, were killed in a bomb attack near a mosque in the terrorist-held city of Idlib, Northwestern Syria.

Tens of al-Nusra commanders and their guards, mostly with Uzbek nationality, were killed and many more were wounded in explosion of a bomb-laden car near Sho’ayb mosque in al-Dhabit district of Idlib city.

In the meantime, the Syrian fighter jets targeted the base and gatherings of al-Nusra in Khan Sheikhoun, Kafr Awid near Zawiyeh mountain and in surroundings of Ariha which ended in the killing or wounding of dozens of the militants.

In addition to al-Nusra members, three civilians were killed and 30 others were wounded in the blast.

Raqqa

The Syrian Army troops and popular forces repelled ISIL’s repeated offensives on government forces’ positions along the strategic road of Ithriya to Raqqa in the Southeastern part of Aleppo province and inflicted a heavy death toll on the terrorists.

The Syrian soldiers and National Defense Forces fended off the ISIL attacks to take control of a strategic chunk of the road connecting Ithriya in Hama province to Raqqa capital of the ISIL self-proclaimed Caliphate via Aleppo.

At least 32 terrorists were killed and many more were wounded in the failed attacks.

The ISIL heavy machineguns, weapons and ammunition were also destroyed in the unsuccessful assaults.
