Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Regains Control over More Strategic Regions in Lattakia

The Syrian army continued marching on militant-held positions in several Syrian cities, and established full control over more strategic hilltops in Northeastern Lattakia.

Scores of militants were killed and injured in the fighting with the Syrian troops over strategic heights.

The Syrian troops also inflicted heavy losses on the militants in other provinces.

Lattakia

The Syrian army and its allies have significantly advanced against the terrorist groups in Northeastern Lattakia and are preparing to launch a large-scale offensive on the Takfiri terrorists’ positions to end militancy at Lattakia-Idlib border, military sources said.

“The Syrian Army troops and the Lebanese Hezbollah fighters have fortified their position in Syriatell region and meantime pushed back the terrorist groups from the strategic heights of 1125 and 1154, which claimed the lives of scores of militants,” the sources said, adding, “The government forces are coordinating the last steps of a large scale operation to hit the militant position in the town of Kabani from its Southern flank.”

“The terrorists groups of al-Nusra Front and al-Turkistani have suffered a heavy death toll in the offensives in the mountainous battlefields of the province,” the sources added.

“The Syrian army and its allies have deployed their forces very close to Kabani and the town has militarily fallen but the terrorist groups continue their meaningless resistance against the government forces which will end in nothing but inflicting more casualties on militants,” the sources underlined.

“Recapture of Kabani will result in liberation of large regions in al-Ghaab plain and the strategic city of Jisr al-Shughour in Idlib province,” they further added.

Aleppo

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continued to beat back the ISIL terrorists from their strongholds in Northeastern Aleppo and captured more territories in the region.

The SDF fighters struck the ISIL strongholds in Northern side of the town of Manbij and pushed the Takfiri terrorists back from the village of Hatabat and its surrounding farms.

The ISIL left behind at least eight members dead and several more wounded and fled the battlefront under the heavy fire of the SDF fighters.

Military sources also announced that the SDF fighters have engaged in an intense battle with the ISIL from several directions, including the village of Qanat al-Qarreh South of Manbij, to approach the town’s entrances.

Earlier reports said on Tuesday that the SDF, comprising mainly of Kurdish fighters, won more clashes against the ISIL near the strategic town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo and captured more territories in the region.

The SDF fighters pushed the ISIL back from the villages of Sahneh al-Kabireh, Saeediyeh, Saqireh and Um al-Satah near Mabij, which not only ended in the killing or wounding of tens of the militants but destroyed their military equipment in large scale.

Also on Tuesday, the top commander of Hasaba (the ISIL monitoring-security system) in the town of Manbij in Northeastern Aleppo was killed in heavy fighting with the Syrian Democratic Forces, informed sources said.

Abu al-Haja, originally from the village of Owseh Jeli, was killed in clashes with the Kurdish-led SDF fighters in the village of Hod Hod one kilometer to the East of Manbij.

Quneitra

The al-Nusra Front’s offensive on government forces’ strongholds in the Southern province of Quneitra was pushed back by the army’s strong defense, adding that the terrorist suffered a heavy death toll and fled the battlefield, sources said.

The al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front stormed the pro-government positions near Tal al-Hamiriyeh South of the village of Hadhar, but the strong defense to Syrian soldiers did not allowed them to advance in the battlefront and retreated from the battlefront under the heavy fire of the army men.

Al-Nusra’s military equipment and vehicles were destroyed in the failed attacks.

Hama

The Syrian soldiers struck the ISIL concentration centers and gatherings in Eastern and Central parts of Hama province, inflicting major damage on the Takfiri group’s military hardware.

The Syrian military forces stormed the ISIL strongholds near the town of al-Aqayrabat in Eastern Hama, which claimed the lives of several militants and destroyed their machinegun-equipped vehicles.

The ISIL defense lines near the village of Ruweida in al-Salamiyah’s countryside in Central Hama were attacked by the Syrian ground forces.

The ISIL suffered a heavy death toll and its military equipment sustained major damage in the attacks near al-Salamiyah.

Deir Ezzur

Syrian military forces, in a fresh round of anti-terrorism attacks, targeted the ISIL concentration centers in different districts and regions inside and outside of the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur and inflicted major losses on the terrorists.

The Syrian soldiers clashed with the ISIL in al-Roshdiyeh district, which ended in the killing of 15 terrorists and wounding of several more.

In the meantime, the ISIL positions came under the attacks of the Syrian army men.

A number of the ISIL terrorists were also killed in the Syrian army’s artillery shelling in Haweija al-Saker al-Sharghi.

The Syrian army stormed the ISIL gatherings near al-Thardah mountain and the village of Ayash, which not only claimed the lives of several militants but destroyed their military vehicles loaded with arms and ammunition.

Raqqa

Informed sources disclosed that the top treasury official of the ISIL terrorist group in the capital of the self-proclaimed Caliphate has left the city for an unknown destination with a large amount of cash.

Local sources said that Hatim al-Utaybi, a Saudi national, has stolen the entire money, gold and other precious jewelry of the Takfiri group and has left Raqqa for an unknown destination.

Military sources said last week that the Syrian Army troops and popular forces’ rapid advances and their race towards the ISIL-held city of Raqqa from different directions testifying that the ISIL was on the verge of a complete fall in Syria.

“The ISIL now faces a serious threat to its capital, Raqqa city,” the sources said, adding, “However, the more immediate objective seems to be the capture of al-Tabaqa Airbase or a push Northwards to the Euphrates River; the latter move would have all ISIL-held areas in the Aleppo province cut off from the ISIL mainland.”

“In the past week, about 100 ISIL fighters have been killed in Western Raqqa while government forces have advanced 45 kilometers along the Ithriya-Raqqa road,” the sources added.

“With the ISIL capital under increasing pressure, the group’s commanders are forced to prioritize their scarce manpower between the Manbij frontline and the Western Raqqa frontline,” they went on to say.

Iraqi Forces Launch Fresh Attacks on Fallujah City From 4 Directions
The Iraqi joint forces kicked off new military operations against the ISIL from four different directions.

The ISIL Takfiri terrorists are now under the full siege of the Iraqi forces as they have been surrounded by the Iraqi army, Federal Police and volunteer forces from South, North, West and East.

On Tuesday, informed military sources disclosed that Iraq’s joint military forces have launched fresh large-scale military operations to win two key regions near the city of Fallujah in Anbar province.

“Anbar province’s police and counterterrorism forces started massive operations to seize back Jabil region and Fallujah dam in the Southern part of Fallujah city,” the Arabic-language Sumeria News quoted an unnamed informed military source as saying.

The Iraqi joint forces will take control of Jabil region first in order to pave their way to seize back Fallujah Dam.

On Sunday, the Iraqi government troops continued their advances in the Southern part of the city of Fallujah, and seized back two strategic regions after heavy clashes with the ISIL Takfiri terrorists.

“Al-Falahat and al-Sabihat region in the Southern part of Fallujah city are now under the control of our forces,” Anbar Operations’ Commander announced.

Meantime, the commander of Iraqi Federal Police Major General Raed Shaker Judat said that a dozen ISIL terrorists were killed in the clashes over al-Falahat and al-Sabihat regions.

The military vehicles of the terrorists were also destroyed in the army’s offensive.

On Saturday, military sources announced that the Iraqi army and tribal forces have started fresh operations to win back two strategic regions in the Western part of the city of Fallujah.

“The Iraqi army’s eighth battalion and air force kicked off fresh military operations to liberate Fallujah’s Western parts,” Commander of Anbar operations Esmayeel al-Mahlavi said.

He noted that the Iraqi tribal forces will help the army to conduct its large-scale operations in Western Fallujah.

Earlier on Saturday, Iraq’s joint forces managed to break the defense lines of the ISIL in Southern Fallujah, and killed the Takfiri terrorist group’s religious judge in the Southern part of Salahuddin province.

ISIL’s religious judge, Jassem Mohammad Sarhan al-Shablavi, was killed in an Iraqi air raid in al-Jomhouriya region in the Southern part of Salahuddin province, battlefield sources announced.

The Iraqi army also took control of the ISIL’s defense lines in Southern Fallujah.

The Iraqi government troops also continued their advances in Jabil region in Southern Fallujah on Saturday.

On Thursday, battlefield sources announced that the Takfiri terrorists in Fallujah city were surrounded from the Northern, Eastern and Southern directions.

“A large-scale operation to retake the city will resume imminently,” the sources added.
