The Iraqi army and its allies took back more regions around the strategic city of Mosul as they continue their massive military operation to capture the last stronghold of the ISIL terrorists in Iraq.
Iraq’s PMF Liberate 7 Villages South, West of Mosul
Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces managed to liberate seven villages in Southwest of Mosul city from the occupation of the ISIL militants, along with 35 km in the depth of the area, PMF website reported.
PMF declared Tal Tibah area liberated, stating that forces are advancing toward Tal Al-Jahesh, Al Manar reported.
Senn Al-Thoban, Al-Hamza, Al-Haram, Ein Al-Bayda, Sajma and Ein Nasser have been also recaptured.
Moreover, PMF stated that AL-Farisiyya and Al-Mostantiqiyyah towns are being under encirclement as a prelude of Iraqi forces incursion.
Iraqi Forces Win Back 100 Villages in 12 Days
Spokesman of the Iraqi Volunteer Forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) Ahmad al-Assadi announced that the country’s joint military forces have seized back tens of villages since the start of the Mosul liberation operation less than two weeks ago.
“Iraq’s joint military forces have seized back 100 villages from the ISIL on the West of the city of Mosul,” al-Assadi said on Sunday.
He noted that a sum of 20 bomb-laden vehicles of the ISIL have also been destroyed to the West of Mosul over the past 12 days.
Iraqi Forces Foil ISIL’s Plot to Attack Ramadi
Iraqi security forces captured nearly a dozen terrorists who were plotting to attack the city of al-Ramadi in Western Iraq.
“A sum of 11 ISIL terrorists who were preparing to target al-Ramadi in order to disrupt security and stability of the center of Anbar province were captured by the Iraqi security forces,” Senior Iraqi Police Commander Ahmad al-Dulaimi said on Sunday.
Meantime, member of Anbar Provincial Council’s Security Committee Raje Barakat said that the Iraqi security forces raided the houses of suspected terrorists and the arrested militants admitted that they were plotting to attack al-Ramadi city.

Local sources said ISIL has broadly planted bombs in toys and other attractive objects for children and civilians in areas they leave as Iraqi joint forces continue their advances in the military operations to liberate Mosul from the terror group grip.
“ISIL used toys because they know the peshmerga will not touch it, but children will,” said Colonel Nawzad Kamil Hassan, an engineer who says his unit has cleared more than 50 tons of explosives from areas once controlled by the militants, Guardian reported.

Iraq Denies US Claim of ‘Pause’ in Mosul Operations
Iraq denied a recent claim made by the US-led coalition supposedly targeting ISIL in the country that there was going to be a “pause” in Iraqi military operations to liberate the Northern city of Mosul.
Coalition spokesman Colonel John Dorian had alleged on Saturday that the suspension was aimed at helping the forces to “regroup”, presstv reported.
“We believe that regrouping will take two days before continuing the advance towards Mosul,” he had said in Baghdad.
However, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said via the country’s al-Iraqiya television network that, “Since the beginning of the operation to date, Iraqi forces have liberated a large number of districts, villages, and towns in Nineveh Province, of which Mosul is the capital, and this trend is to continue as scheduled.”

Syrian Army troops and their popular allies are engaged in fierce clashes with Jeish al-Fatah terrorists in Western and Southwestern Aleppo city, sources from the ranks of the pro-government forces said on Sunday.
“Several bomb-laden suicide vehicles of Jeish al-Fatah were destroyed by the Syrian army before hitting government positions in Housing Project 1070. Scores of terrorists were killed in the the suicide vehicles’ blast caused by the army’s preemptive strike,” the sources said.
“Syrian fighter jets, for their part, pounded Jeish al-Fatah’s positions near the Housing Project 1070,” they added.
“Simultaneous with continued clashes between the army men and terrorists in the neighborhoods of Menyan, Zahiyeh al-Assad, Jam’iyat al-Zahra and near the 3,000-Unit Housing Complex, the Syrian warplanes and artillery units pounded terrorists’ movement in the Western part of Aleppo city,” the sources said.
“Fierce clashes have been reported between army and Fatah al-Sham Front (the al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group previously know as the al-Nusra Front) and its allies near the road to the Family House neighborhood and Jameh Mosque of Rasoul A’azam in the Western part of the city,” they added.
Medical sources reported earlier today that Jeish al-Fatah coalition of terrorist groups launched chemical attack on residential areas under the control of the government troops in Aleppo city, inflicting casualties on the civilian population in the region.
“Jeish al-Fatah has fired chemically armed shells at government positions and residential areas in the Assad Military-Engineering Academy and 3,000-unit Housing Complex near the academy in Southwestern Aleppo city three times in the last several hours, leaving at least a civilian dead and 36 more vitally wounded,” the sources said.
“Heavy attacks of the militants have blocked ways to transfer the poisoned and injured civilians to medical centers,” they added.
“Based on evidence and the symptoms reported about the affected population, Jeish al-Fatah has used Chlorine in its chemical attacks this morning,” the media sources underlined.
