The Washington Post Calls Harry Reid A Dishonest Fraud

Earlier today my colleague Jay Caruso posted on a hilarious interview in which Trey Gowdy mused on whether or not Harry Reid, despite being a Mormon, spent a good deal of his waking hours in a narcotic induced haze. At issue was a bizzare, indeed deranged, letter Reid sent to James Comey accusing Comey of violation the Hatch Act (because doing your job, even half-assed, is partisanship if it hurts a Democrat) and suppressing information about an alleged FBI investigation into the links between Trump and the Kremlin.

It is one thing when Trey Gowdy talks smack about Harry Reid, it is quite another when the Washington Post basically says the same thing.

In the course of arguing that Comey’s disclosure that the FBI is looking into new Hillary Clinton investigation emails may have violated the Hatch Act, Reid slips in an extremely bold claim about the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government — a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity. The public has a right to know this information. I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public. There is no danger to American interests from releasing it. And yet, you continue to resist calls to inform the public of this critical information.

Even for a man known for bare-knuckle politics, this is remarkable.

The Post goes on to enummerate all the other bizarre things Reid has said and damns him, by his own words, as having no conscience:

That Reid interview with The Post’s Ben Terris also included this gem:

Is there a line he wouldn’t cross when it comes to political warfare?

“I don’t know what that line would be,” [Reid] said.

None of this is to say that the brutish man-love of Trump for Putin isn’t disconcerting. But the pro-Russian actions of Trump and his advisers have not only been reported upon there has been zero effort by Trump or his inner circle to disguise their leanings. The same cannot be said of the activities of Hillary Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, or Clinton’s inner circle’s dealings with the Russians.

Reid’s lack on integrity, decency, or manliness is a shame to Nevada, the Senate, and the nation. One hopes that with his retirement, Harry Reid can wean himself from Nevada’s gay elderly S & M subculture and get the mental health treatment he so obviously needs.
