“This is why you have security protocols — to protect classified information,” Mr. McCaul said on “Fox and Friends.” “She exposed it to our enemies, and now … our adversaries have this very sensitive information that not only jeopardizes her and national security at home, but the men and women serving overseas.”
“In my opinion, quite frankly, it’s treason,” said Mr. McCaul, Texas Republican.
McCaul pointed out the potential that Hillary’s criminal misuse of classified data not only put lives at stake but opened her up to blackmail.
“The concern I’ve had all along is she has had seven special access programs on these devices. Those are the most classified, sensitive secrets in the federal government — many of them covert operations,” he said.
According to McCaul, FBI director James Comey knew about the infiltration yet only reopened the investigation after strong resistance from inside the Bureau and new revelations from the Anthony Weiner investigation forced his hand.
“She took those devices overseas against the State Department’s wishes, and now we find out — and James Comey told me previously — that it’s very likely that foreign adversary nations got into her private server,” Mr. McCaul said.
