Hypocrites Elijah Cummings and John Conyers Demand Investigation into FBI Leaks about Clinton

In light of the ever more obvious corruption of Hillary Clinton, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) and Rep. John Conyers Jr (D-MI). are focused on the issue that really matters—who in the FBI leaked what to Rudy Giuliani. The two partisan hacks are demanding an investigation into the least significant aspect of the FBI’s criminal investigation of the Democrat nominee.

“It is absolutely unacceptable for the FBI to leak unsubstantiated—and in some cases false—information about one presidential candidate to benefit the other candidate,” Cummings and Conyers wrote to Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Friday. “Leaking this information to former FBI officials as a conduit to the Trump campaign is equally intolerable.”

Leaks of this nature should only be allowed when they hurt Republicans or conservatives apparently.

Throughout every congressional investigation during the Obama administration, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) dutifully cried crocodile tears for every poor downtrodden Democrat appointee or career apparatchik who had to answer questions about abusing their power for the Democrats’ political gain. Who can forget how he all but lay prostrate at the feet of John Koskinen to beg forgiveness for the IRS Commissioner having to answer for his agency’s politically motivated stonewalling of conservative organizations.

Cummings himself colluded with IRS officials like Lois Lerner in partisan investigations of groups like True the Vote.

• On or before January 25, 2013, Cummings’ staff requested more information from the IRS about True the Vote.  The head of the IRS Legislative Affairs office e-mailed several IRS officials, including former Exempt Organizations Director Lois Lerner, that “House Oversight Committee Minority staff” sought information about True the Vote.  On Monday, January 28, Lerner wrote to her deputy Holly Paz: “Did we find anything?”  When Paz informed her minutes later that she had not heard back about True the Vote’s information, Lerner replied: “thanks – check tomorrow please.
• On January 31, 2013, Paz attached True the Vote’s form 990s, which she authorized the IRS to share with the Minority staff.  Neither Cummings nor the IRS shared these requested documents with the Oversight Majority.  None of the Minority’s communications about True the Vote with the IRS were shared with the Committee Majority even though Ranking Member Cummings frequently complains about the Committee Majority contacting individuals on official matters without the involvement of Minority staff.

Cummings naturally denied that he or his staff had anything to do with the IRS’s harassment of True the Vote.

Over the same time frame, Conyers is best known for scoffing at the idea that Congress should read bills they vote on and being married to a convicted felon who served 3 years in prison for bribery.

Neither of these clowns should be taken seriously about anything.
