So What Does the List of Potential Trump Cabinet Members Look Like?
It’s just two days out from the election, but there is already speculation over what a President Trump cabinet will look like (other than being gilded and obnoxious).
Buzzfeed News has gotten their hands on a preliminary list of potential cabinet positions, put together by Trump’s transition team. The list, of course, could change as his inauguration draws closer, but it’s an interesting look into how payback for endorsements works.
For example, Governor Chris Christie will surely get some sort of position, as he is a suggested pick for several different positions, ranging Attorney General, to Secretary of Commerce, to Secretary of Homeland Security.
And yes, Sarah Palin makes a screeching appearance on the list, as well.
And what about our lovely RNC Chairman, Reince Priebus? Could there be a bit of tit-for-tat in blocking the possibility of an actual conservative taking the top spot?
In a handful of instances there is only one candidate listed — Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is the only name listed for chief of staff, EEOC Commissioner Victoria Lipnic is listed for secretary of labor, Rep. Jeff Miller as veterans affairs administrator, Sen. Jeff Sessions as director of the Office of Management and Budget, and Donald McGahn, who has served as counsel to Trump’s campaign, to be White House counsel.
Chief of Staff?
Well, being a weasel has its privileges, I suppose.
OH… and do we remember the whole stink about Florida’s Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and the dropped investigation into the fraudulent Trump University’s operations in the state?
It seems that she got more than just a campaign contribution. She’s also listed as a potential Attorney General pick.
Ben Carson makes several appearances, as a potential Secretary of Education or Secretary of Health and Human Services.
That last one actually makes sense. For as awful of a candidate as he was, Carson is undoubtedly a brilliant doctor and would likely bring much to the positon.
Of course, he’ll have to fight back opposition from Newt Gingrich and Governor Rick Scott for that particular position, according to the list.
As was pointed out, the list may change, and some of the names may be just to get people stirred up.
I’m disappointed to see Governor Rick Perry was not named in this preliminary list, but as he has not been fully utilized as a surrogate (although he did his part), it could be that the gilded toad is still nursing the wounds of Perry’s very accurate early attacks on him.
Or he just may be playing a head game. Who knows?
Here is the list, however. Look it over and see what you think.
