"Government spends more on Cornish lessons than English" Um, no it doesn't, but the point is...?

 Given an article published in the Express newspaper entitled “Government spends more on CORNISH lessons than English, anti-extremism report reveals”, one has to wonder what the point of the publication is. Firstly, the Government no longer funds the Cornish language in contradiction to the rules of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages. But I can’t help but feel that the Express is somehow accusing the Cornish minority of helping terrorism take root in the UK. Should the campaigners for equal rights in Cornwall stop campaigning because the Government refuses to take appropiate measures against terrorism? With the criminality and inequality going on in Cornwall, some low rate newspaper decides to make up some news apparently blaming the Cornish for helping spread terrorism. No wonder we call ourselves Cornish when it comes to what some English people think, the Cornish aren’t the Government, blame the Government for not spending enough money, don’t blame the Cornish for doing what they have to do to survive. Maybe in future the paper could publish something useful, like the Urban-Rural divide but even then I imagine most the story would be fantasy. And as for the Cornish language being extinct and needed to be funded, the loss of the language was partly down to the English att the time of the Prayer Book Rebellion, if a Bishop of Truro, Truro being the only city in Cornwall, can apologise for the massacre of many Cornish people by the English, then that gives reason for the Government to fund it. But not in the eyes of the Express.
