Lena Dunham: I’ve Never Had an Abortion, But I Wish I Had

Continuing the tradition of moronic modern feminist statements, actress/author Lena Dunham told her recent podcast listeners that she wished she could say she’d had an abortion.

“Something I’ve thought about a lot is the fact that there is stigma around abortion,”  said Dunham on her Women of the Hour podcast.

Dunham discussed a visit to a Texas Planned Parenthood where she was approached to join a project where women discuss their abortion experiences.

“I sort of jumped. I haven’t had an abortion,’ I told her. I wanted to make it really clear to her that as much as I was going out and fighting for other women’s options, I myself had never had an abortion…Now I can say that I still haven’t had an abortion, but I wish I had.”

Let’s play this out, shall we?

“I’ve never been raped but I wish I had.”

“I’ve never been beaten but I wish I had.”

“I’ve never lost a child but I wish I had.”

This is what the culture of victimization breeds – some bizarre connection between nobility and suffering. On the left, you are no one until you’re a victim. It isn’t enough for Dunham to simply empathize and say, “I’ve never had this experience but I’ll support your project.” In typical Hollywood fashion she has to make it about herself, even when it is clearly not about her in any way. She feels bad not for the women who have had to endure the agony of the “choice” and the procedure. She feels bad for herself, because she’s never had the opportunity to choose to take a a baby’s life.

Yes, Ms. Dunham it is painfully clear you’ve never had an abortion. Even pro-choice women will tell you abortion takes a toll. Only an ignorant narcissist would wish to endure the experience just to say she did it.
