Trump Says He Knows His Supporters Were Vicious and Nasty
Yeah. We know.
With the election behind him and nothing to lose, Trump is openly admitting what was pointed out on social media and more traditional news sources throughout the campaign: Trump supporters are dangerous.
From the Hill:
“You people were vicious, violent, screaming, ‘Where’s the wall? We want the wall!’ Screaming, ‘Prison! Prison! Lock her up!’ I mean you are going crazy. I mean, you were nasty and mean and vicious and you wanted to win, right?” Trump said in Orlando, Fla., during a stop on his “thank you” tour.
“But now, you’re mellow and you’re cool and you’re not nearly as vicious or violent, right? Because we won, right?”
Not nearly? Is that supposed to make the rest of society feel better?
We already know that any perceived slight can set Trump off on a Twitter-tangent.
His devotees are even further removed from sane and rational discourse. They lash out on social media, and in some reported cases, take it even further, in defense of Dear Leader.
Michelle Fields, the then-Breitbart reporter who was grabbed by Trump’s campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, received threatening phone calls to her personal number by someone upset over the charges she had brought because of the incident.
Anyone who has tried to question Trump, in any way, is usually flooded out by the instantaneous assault of raging Trumpidians, who are, for most part, unwilling to listen to anything or anyone that falls short of being completely pro-Trump.
Believe me. I know.
Among other incidents, a Trump supporter was charged with assault for sucker-punching a protester at a rally in March, another protester was separately sucker-punched at a different rally the same month, a man knocked down and kicked a protester last October, a photographer wasbloodied after being hit by a rock in June, a Trump supporter wasbloodied in a scuffle outside a rally in April, and both sides used pepper spray on each other in a clash outside a city council meeting in April.
Trump had, at one time, suggested he would pay the legal fees of any of his supporters who were arrested or otherwise incurred legal bills because they punched a protester at one of his rallies.
The March incident was 78-year old John McGraw sucker punching Rakeem Jones, as he was being led from a North Carolina Trump rally.
McGraw later said, “The next time we see him, we might have to kill him.”
Very nice.
McGraw also suggested at one point that he was hopeful that Trump would do as he’d said and pay his legal bills.
No word on if that has happened, but I’m willing to bet it has not.
I can’t help but wonder just what kind of society we’ll be looking at in four years if Trump’s weapons-grade lunacy metastasizes?
