Obama Places Ammo Ban on Federal Lands on Last Day
Just a little something as Obama walks out the door. Thought that we were done with this nonsense from this administration, but should have figured one more kick.
The Washington Beacon reports:
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Director Dan Ashe, an Obama appointee, ordered a new ammunition ban for certain federal lands on Thursday–his last full day in office.
The ban, which took effect immediately, eliminates the use of lead-based ammunition on federal lands like national parks and wildlife refuges, as well as any other land administered by the Fish and Wildlife Service. The ban is expected to have a major impact on much of the hunting that takes place on federal lands across the United States as lead-based ammunition is widely legal and used throughout the country.
Ashe said the order was necessary to protect wildlife from exposure to lead.

Lead ammunition is dangerous to waterfowl, since birds can ingest lead shot off the bottom of ponds where they eat vegetation. Lead ammo has been banned for years, this is a non story!!!!
The only bad part about having to use steel shot is, you need to be very careful when you clean your birds. If you miss getting all of the steel shot out of your birds, you may blow out a tooth!
Good points
Hi Dumb Ass, OBAMA is GONE. The ban was repealed.
The only “federal lands” are Washington DC and U.S. Territories.
Copper bullets preserve significant amount of meat while big game is hunted and tungsten shots work fine in birds and other small game. Since talking about preserved lands, logging industry should not be a question(lead is soft but tungsten breaks circle saws of lambor mills at impact). Lead causes problems, there is no doubt about that. Yes the cartridges cost more, but unless you’re a professional hunter the cost should not be a big deal, even if you hunt acytively but dont have a habit of shooting towards any sound you hear in a forest. As a hunter I think this is one of the few reasonable pices of legislation Obama initiated.
If you are a good shot you will not need to worry about the animals ‘welfare’. On Sat mornings they have those educational wildlife shows for kids. I was flipping through one morning and the vet said they gave a bird insulin because of low blood sugar and then released it into the wild. My question is when the birds blood sugar gets low again will it go back to the vet for another shot? Hmmmm. The same episode some libtard vet said they were going to muzzle a wild fox to protect the fox!??? I am certain the vet was muzzling the fox to protect the vet. Kinda like when a cop handcuffs someone and says “Its for your safety sir” Uh Huh.
