Trump Administration Puts Kellyanne Conway in Timeout
Somebody was put in timeout.
After a series of public statements that turned out to be the opposite of true, and an assortment of other troublesome appearances, Kellyanne Conway has been tucked out of sight by the White House, CNN is reporting.
Conway, who was recently a regular fixture on TV news, hasn’t appeared for an on-air interview since early last week. That Monday, she argued that then-national security adviser Michael Flynn had the “full confidence” of President Trump.
Flynn resigned from his post later that day amid revelations that he misled Vice President Pence about the nature of his conversations with the Russian ambassador.
And on Tuesday, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said Trump asked for Flynn’s resignation. That directly contradicted Conway’s claim on NBC’s “Today” earlier that morning that Flynn had offered to step down.
Conway was “off message,” a White House source told CNN.
Off message, you say?
That’s one way of putting it.
Other Conway-created embarrassing situations include the “Bowling Green massacre” comment, as well as the ethical blunder of pimping Ivanka Trump’s fashion line on “Fox and Friends.”
One source close to the White House told CNN that the Trump administration has seen fewer controversies in Conway’s absence.
“Clearly they’re having much more of a drama-free week,” CNN quoted the source as saying. “Having Kellyanne off television is helping them.”
Has somebody started a pool as to who would be the next in Trump’s circle to feel the axe?
Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Deputy White House press secretary, insists that Conway’s absence from television shouldn’t be seen as a punishment.
“Kellyanne has a number of media appearances this week and also has a large portfolio at the WH and is spending significant time focusing on it,” she told CNN.
Nevertheless, Conway’s television absence is likely temporary.
“They’re letting the heat cool off,” one source was quoted as saying.
And that could be true, as well, but if we hear that Conway will be “pursuing other avenues” anytime in the next week or two, don’t be surprised.

JDP…YES ONE SHOULD ALWAYS BE ON MESSAGE IF YOU DON’T GET THE IN TIME SHOULD SAY NOTHING ALWAYS CHECK OUT WHAT YOUR GOING TO SAY WITH THE BOSS.
Reading between the lines here, which is wise when it comes to CNN, what could be deduced here is that CNN is persona non grata with the Trump admin and Kelly Ann just didn’t schedule any interviews with them.
You would think that there would be a special person within the White House in charge with keeping a close tab on the presidents thoughts during important times such as General Flynn. This person would be in charge of keeping the other Council’s to the president informed. Hence, everyone would be on the same message when talking to the press. No one should be out of the loop on important issues. This White House appears to do it all the time.
Now, as far as General Flynn goes, I think President Trump lost a very, and I mean very qualified Intelligence Dept Head. Read his resume, I feel we lost a James Bond. I really do. The General who is now in charge was in charge of tanks in the Iraq War, wrote a book on Vietnam, nothing to do with the gathering or understanding of intelligence. Again, a huge lost.
Trump needs no cheer leader
There’s no Con better than a CONWAY.
Laura Ingram needs to be his spokesperson, she is intelligent, doesn’t look like she just rolled off of a bottle of vodka and carries herself pretty darn well.
Agreed.
