McConnell Shifts Blame: Obamacare Will Remain, Democrats ‘Ought to be Pretty Happy’

Health care, as many have recently learned, is very tough to get right and passed in Congress.

While several reports have indicated that Republicans are gearing up for a second attempt to pass the doomed American Health Care Act, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had no problem throwing cold water on the entire idea.

McConnell continued by adding, “We believe it will not work out well, but we’ll see. They have an opportunity now to have the status quo go forward, regretfully.”

The Republican plan, led by Paul Ryan, was shelved last week when they failed to garner enough votes on two separate occasions to replace Obamacare.

While the White House has indicated that they plan to move on to tax reform and re-approach health care at a later date, Paul Ryan and the Republican caucus have indicated that they plan to revive the health care bill and work on solution together.

Learning from his recent mistakes, Ryan indicated that he would not be bound by any artificial deadlines.

With the new reports, Congress and the White House don’t seem to be on the same page.
