New Report: Senate Intelligence Committee Is Ill-Prepared For Russian Interference Probe

It seems the Senate Intelligence Committee that is to do their own investigation into potential interference by Russia in the 2016 election are ill-prepared to begin what is likely going to be a complicated ride.

In fact, a new report says there is no one working full-time on getting to answers in the investigation, nor are any of the members of the committee experienced in investigation or Russian affairs.

That’s not good.

Two sources familiar with the matter told the site that neither Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, Carter Page, Paul Manafort nor Jared Kushner have been interviewed.

“It’s either a real investigation or not,” an individual with knowledge of the committee’s activities said. “You have to have an approved investigative guide. You have to make it formal.

“Can you have a credible investigation with only seven part-time staffers, doing everything in secret?”

They have the assessment from the intelligence community about Russia’s alleged interference. That assessment suggests there was a definite preference for Donald Trump, but did not give a specific conclusion, as to whether there were direct ties.

I gave you the story last week about Carter Page and how Russia hoped to infiltrate the Trump administration through his aides.

Again, nothing that can be definitively laid in anyone’s lap, but the Senate Intelligence Committee is not equipped to handle the information, even if they had it.

Two staffers with legal experience are to be added, soon. We can hope they have enough get-up-and-go to kick this particular committee in the right direction.
