GET EXCITED: Two 2016 Candidates To Hold CNN Town Hall Debate

Because I know this is a matchup we’ve all been craving!

Yup. For those who just want to relive the 2016 primary season over again, and consider alternate possibilities to what we eventually ended up with, here it is.

CNN will air a town hall debate between Senator Bernie Sanders and Ohio Governor John Kasich next week.

Sanders was the last one standing against a Hillary Clinton nomination, seemingly unaware that she was the heir apparent to the Democrat throne.

WikiLeaks documents revealed what appeared to be a coordinated effort by the Democratic National Committee to shuffle Sanders off, so that the queen could take her rightful place.

This angered a lot of Bern victims, who possibly helped Hillary lose by staying home in protest, as some said they would do.

Kasich, on the other hand, lagged behind in an overcrowded GOP field, but refused to drop, clinging to his fourth place, then third place in polling, only dropping after Senator Ted Cruz conceded the fight to Donald Trump.

There has been a theory that Kasich felt if he held on, he would get the nod in a contested convention, but that never happened.

From The Hill:

“Less than two weeks after House Republicans narrowly passed a bill to repeal and replace Obamacare, and with tax reform a top priority for President Trump, Pelosi and then Sanders and Kasich will discuss and debate these and other issues before live studio audiences,” CNN said in a press release.

The Sanders-Kasich debate will take place May 16 and be hosted by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and chief political correspondent Dana Bash.
