Hillary Clinton: Resistance in 2018, Run For the White House in 2020?

Hillary is all over the place these days as part of her “comeback tour.” What’s a twice failed presidential candidate to do after being snubbed by voters? Well, she’s let slip a few things over the last few days about what’s next for her.

In an interview yesterday with a fawning Christiane Amanpour of CNN, Hillary declared she is now part of the resistance.

“I’m back to being an activist citizen, and part of the resistance,” Clinton said.

This would be the same resistance that seems to protest something every day. And if they protest everything, are they really protesting anything? No matter, they now count Hillary among their numbers. She seems keen to get started.

As part of the “resistance,” she accused Trump of spending too much time talking about losing the popular vote, and not enough time actually running the country. Amanpour joked that she sensed a tweet coming from the president to refute those claims.

“Better that than interfering in foreign affairs,” Clinton said. “If he wants to tweet about me, I’m happy to be the diversion.”

Trump did tweet about Clinton’s interview Tuesday night, saying Comey was the ‘best thing’ that happened to her.

Speaking of Comey, he just so happens to be testifying in front of Congress today, and he’s had quite a bit to say about Hillary’s right-hand girl, Huma Abedin. Such as, yes, the FBI did find classified emails that were forwarded from Hillary Clinton’s email by Abedin to Abedin’s husband, Anthony Weiner. Hillary and Huma are perfect fits for the low-principled resistance movement.

Anyway, Hillary’s got more planned than just resistance. She’s going to start her own political action committee (PAC), too, which will be “acting as a quiet catalyst” to assist organizations she supports. Hillary’s PAC will also donate money to candidates in 2018, thus positioning her to be a Democrat kingmaker in the important mid-term elections.

When you add in the book she’s writing about the 2016 election, plus her reemergence on the lucrative speaker circuit, you’re left with the impression that she’s leaving her options open for another run at the White House.

She has said that the PAC will not be a vehicle for funding future political ambitions, but that should be taken with a grain of salt. The fact of the matter is that the PAC will keep donations flowing in her direction; altruistic, she is not, so Hillary 2020 isn’t completely out of the question.
