The Numbers Don’t Lie: Tim Tebow is a Massive Stud

Tim Tebow has all the traits needed to be an all-American hero: Heisman Trophy, (somewhat brief) professional football career, camera-ready smile, bulging biceps (that’s a requirement, right?), and he’s a super nice guy who throws proms for young people with disabilities. He is, in a word, studly.

He’s also a devout Christian who is not shy about his faith. This makes him a target of the secular left, who can’t stand his success and love to mock him when he faces professional difficulties.

Remember a few Super Bowls ago when he and his mother appeared in a pro-life ad aired during the game? The left’s venom was never more poisonous.

The great thing about Tim Tebow is he simply doesn’t care and he keeps going about his business. Of late, his business has been minor league baseball, as an outfielder and DH for the single A Columbus Fireflies.

And, like most things he touches, his presence on the baseball diamond has led to record numbers of people flocking to see him play.

The Hickory Crawdads sold out four games with the Fireflies, its total of 17,500 for the series surpassing the 15,900 they drew their first eight games.

“We had 4,500 people in the stands,” Crawdads season ticket holder Christopher Pack said, “and 4,300 were there to see Tim Tebow.”

People show up in Tebow’s NFL jerseys, and Florida Gator outfits, lining up around the rails in this intimate ballparks trying to get autograph or a selfie with Tebow.

But, wait, there’s more.

In Augusta, Georgia, the GreenJackets front-office staff had to scramble and find enough workers for concessions: 5,830 fans turned out, well above their season’s average of 3,190. A few days later in Rome, Georgia, — smack in the heart of Southeastern Conference football territory where the former Florida Gator was a polarizing figure — Tebow and the Fireflies drew 5,105 fans.

“That was two-and-half times what they might bring in for a game in mid-April,” said Lakewood (New Jersey) BlueClaws communications director Greg Giombarrese said. “That’s when I knew this was something different.”

Tim Tebow is something different. He may not be every person’s cup of tea, but he’s the kind of guy you want your daughter to marry. He’s true to his beliefs and he works like a dog to always be better. Minor league baseball is lucky to have him.
