Trump Considers Administration Shakeup Because Staff/Cabinet Are Not All About Trump

The President of the United States might benefit from therapy sessions. Most people judge the value of their staff on the job they’re doing, their competence and ability to keep the administration off the front pages unless it’s goods news.

Of course, this is the Trump administration, and as it currently stands, it’s making the Jerry Springer Show look like the Lawrence Welk Show. Now comes word that President Trump seeks to shake up his staff and perhaps replace some of his cabinet team after a mere four months in office. Axios reported on the news and in what would normally be an eye-popping moment, caused me to close my eyes and shake my head:

The sources say Trump feels ill-served by not just his staff but also by several of his Cabinet officials. Trump has two complaints about Cabinet members: Either they’re tooting their own horns too much, or they’re insufficiently effusive in praising him as a brilliant diplomat, etc.

The one exception is Rex Tillerson and why? Because whenever he’s on television, he’s praising the President.

Trump’s desire for praise and attention is nothing new. Last month, when Donald Trump hosted ambassadors of other countries for lunch, he said the following:

Trump was kicking off Monday’s lunch with ambassadors of countries on the U.N. Security Council when he asked the room if they liked Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N.

Trump said that if they didn’t, “she could easily be replaced.”

The comment sparked some awkwardness, but seemed to be taken in jest. Haley and others gathered around the lengthy table laughed.

Andrea wrote:

Yes, it was a joke. But here’s the thing: It was a joke about someone being removed from her job in a room full of people Trump doesn’t know well. There’s something about knowing your audience and acting accordingly, and joking that your own U.N. ambassador could be removed if her colleagues in the U.N. Security Council don’t like her undermines Haley’s position and her authority to speak for the president.

Trump, in likely an attempt to remind everyone that he’s the bully in charge, not his ambassador who garners praise on a regular basis, only showed his immaturity and capricious nature that he would even hint at something like that.

I for one, cannot fathom why Sean Spicer doesn’t quit. His boss was yapping about him while he was away. Many didn’t even know the reason for Spicer’s absence. He was serving Navy Reserve duty. He goes off to serve his country, and the President takes the time to snipe about him to others. What a swell guy.

Not that it matters. Trump’s defenders will come out strong, arguing he’s right because of course, they will.
