Syria: After Assad Jet Downed, Russian Military Warns Americans That They Will Now Be Regarded As “Targets”

Another day, and another provocation of Russia by the American forces valiantly protecting the brave ISIS freedom fighters in Syria.

What happened to the promises to work hand in hand with the Putin Regime to destroy the Caliphate once and for all, Donald?

Is starting a war with Vlad part of the grand strategy meant to bring about the salvation of both the West and the last traditional government in the region?

Russia has said it will treat US warplanes operating in parts of Syria where its air forces are also present as “targets” amid a diplomatic row caused by the downing of a Syrian jet.

The country’s defence ministry said it would track US-led coalition aircraft with missile systems and military aircraft, but stopped short of saying it would shoot them down.

A hotline set up between Russia and the US to prevent mid-air collisions will also be suspended.

“All kinds of airborne vehicles, including aircraft and UAVs of the international coalition detected to the west of the Euphrates River will be tracked by the Russian SAM systems as air targets,” the Russian Defence Ministry said in a statement.

The warning followed after a US F-18 Super Hornet shot down a Syrian army SU-22 jet on Sunday in the countryside southwest of Raqqa – the first such downing of a Syrian jet by the US since the start of the country’s civil war in 2011.

Washington said the jet had dropped bombs near US-backed forces but Damascus said the plane was downed while flying a mission against Isis militants.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said the suspension of its communication line with the Americans would begin immediately.

The US did not use its hotline with Russia ahead of the downing of the Syrian government warplane, said the ministry, which accused the US of a “deliberate failure to make good on its commitments” under the de-confliction deal.

It may seem like a century or more ago, but I can vividly recall Candidate Trump promising all of us that we would no longer be getting involved in Middle Eastern adventures that do nothing but promote Moslem terrorist groups at the expense of secular governments that have in the past done wonders at curbing the excesses of their primitive populations.

And just for the record, I predicted that this exact scenario would play itself out when the original de-confliction deal was agreed upon a month and a half ago – there’s just no hope that the Americans can extricate themselves from a mess that they themselves brought about due to allegiance to the Israelis, and a history of interference that stretches back more than a century across the globe.

Maybe it will honestly take a few dozen jets downed by some of the most advanced anti-aircraft systems in existence to get true negotiations onto the table, although I’m unsure if President Pence (this will likely be the case eventually) would hold back from bringing about Armageddon – some religious nuts really think nuclear war with Russia will usher in the return of Christ.
