Bannon’s Base Reacts: Are The Gloves Off?

Well, this has been a turbulent day.

Nationalists across the country and faced with life after Bannon, today.

For the rest of us, no more jokes about President Bannon. No more snide remarks about Trump’s brain. We won’t have Steve Bannon to kick around, anymore.

The lines really have been blurred between the camps, where it has become difficult to determine if Trump’s support is because of Trump, or if it’s because of the influence Steve Bannon has exerted over his campaign first, and then his administration.

If it’s the latter, they’re probably not going to react well.

Some have already begun the cries of “BETRAYAL!” from the deep and devoted bowels of Trumpland.

“I’m very upset,” said Tea Party activist Debbie Dooley. “The deep state globalists won. They forced out Steve Bannon. I had a ‘CNN is fake news protest’ scheduled for tomorrow at their headquarters in Atlanta that I’m canceling because I’m so disheartened. It’s a betrayal of his base. I’ll continue to support Trump and his policies but I’ll no longer be on the front lines defending him.”

Bannon’s stay within the Trump inner circle has long been marked with turmoil and in-fighting, as Bannon’s nationalist bent has clashed with the direction being urged by Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, the two Democrats with the most influence over the president.

So what now for Bannon?

The rumor is he’ll turn up back at Breitbart, ready to take back the reins. The direction he steers coverage of the White House, now that he’s been on the inside and walked away, however, remains to be seen.

The rest of Breitbart have already signaled to the world that their loyalties are with their boss.

Harsh.

“Steve’s allies in the populist nationalist movement are ready to ride to the gates of hell with him against the West Wing Democrats and globalists like [national security aide] Dina Powell, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Gary Cohn and H.R. McMaster,” said one Bannon ally.

“They should all be very worried that their efforts to undermine the president will be exposed. If they think what’s happened with Steve is rough, wait until they see what he does outside the White House,” the ally said.

It’s an interesting turn, considering conservatives from the House, as well as Republican donors have asked the president to keep Bannon on.

It may not have been Trump’s call, however, as the suggestion has been that Bannon resigned on his own several weeks ago.
