Perpetual Outrage: Assorted Activist Groups Plan 10-Day March On Washington

As a new week is set to begin, so also are the fresh protests.

On Monday, an activist group comprised of social justice warriors, community organizers, and assorted leftists plan to embark on a 10-day march from Charlottesville, Virginia to Washington, D.C. in what they’re calling “The March to Confront White Supremacy.”

The plan is to arrive in Washington on September 6, and from there, they’ll launch daily “nonviolent” demonstrations, with the stated goal of demanding the removal of President Trump.

Yes. This is the annoying nonsense that convinces people to vote for Trump out of spite (since, as Jay Caruso pointed out, is the only goal some Trumpers seem to have – pi**ing off leftists), and will make him president forever.

“This is the time to confront white supremacy in our government and throughout our history. We demand that President Trump to be removed from office for allying himself with this ideology of hate and we demand an agenda that repairs the damage it’s done to our country and its people,” the website for the march reads.

“This will be a sustained civil disobedience campaign, so bring what you need to stay,” they added.

Let’s begin with a lesson in human nature, and what we know about the professional grievance industry in America.

You can’t confront history. It’s over. If acknowledging some of the uglier, more uncomfortable and tragic parts of our history is really one of the goals, maybe talk to your Communist cousins and tell them to stop damaging and tearing down historic monuments that spark their manufactured outrage.

More than anything, these marches tend to turn the average citizen, who has to live, work, care for their families against the causes these groups tend to support. The main reason is because they put their cause over citizens’ right to operate in their communities. While they have the right to demonstrate, when they use obnoxious measures to inconvenience people who just want to live their lives, hoping that by theoretically twisting those arms, they’ll get the government to listen, people who might have otherwise been sympathetic to their cause lose patience.

The groups represented at the march include: United We Dream, the Working Families Party, the Movement for Black Lives, the March for Racial Justice, Democracy Spring, IfNotNow, Color of Change, Center for Popular Democracy, Action Group Network, Million Hoodies Movement for Justice, The People’s Consortium, Pico, Resist Here, and IUPAT.

Interestingly enough, if you go to the website for the march and look on the page marked “Principles of Unity,” it’s blank.

I’m thinking we can write this one off as the latest in a long line of leftist attempts to draw attention and avoid working real jobs.

If they want to impress me and bring real change while they’re in D.C., they should gather over on the National Mall and join the folks of David’s Tent, who have maintained a presence there for several years, praying, singing, and worshiping, 24/7, as they seek God’s intervention for our nation.

David’s Tent is about defining a culture that is centered around publicly honoring Jesus. We want to see worship in public spaces become the norm, not a special event. Amos 9:11 speaks of the restoration of the fallen Tent of David, meaning that a descendant of David would once again be on the throne. This is fulfilled in Jesus Christ, who has been crowned King of the Ages! David’s Tent DC is a national confession that Jesus is Lord of America and that we receive Him as such.

And you know what has never happened during the occupation of the National Mall by the David’s Tent group?

I’ve yet to hear about a single one of them being arrested for disrupting traffic, blocking sidewalks, or anything that puts their cause over the ability of the citizens around D.C. to move freely and conduct the day-to-day business of living.

What a concept.
